What was your first cosmetic mod?
I have had my stock GT86 for three weeks and am already thinking about cosmetic modifications (windows tint, carbon fiber paddle shifters, plasti-Dip wheels... ).
What was your first cosmetic mod? |
Look into window tint and tail lights.
Cars look so good with window tint they basically come new with it now. My mum just got a 2020 crosstrek, the back windows are really dark, looks great. Even your typical GMC crossover next to you in traffic has tinted windows from factory. It's almost mandatory. Tail lights are an incredibly easy install, you dont have to take anything apart that you would be nervous putting back together, and can be had pretty cheap used. By far the biggest bang for your buck will be lowering springs, that's both a cosmetic and performance upgrade. It's a much much more involved install however, but a combination wrench set and impact gun with some sockets, a floor jack + stands, and a friend who's done it before and ur golden. |

I wouldn't call window tint a mod, more like a requirement.
Besides that only thing I did was add a subwoofer and amp. Oh and bigger exhaust tips. Cause no ricer/hipster fboy that is plagued these days. |

Painted my headlights and added halos. Stock chrome 13-16 86 headlights just weren't for me.

Tail lights. I actually had the tails before I bought the car...
Imo, the Tom's better complement the lines of the car |
Clear sidemarkers

Hole plug for the sound generator.
Battery Tender pigtail. WeatherTec mats. Tires. FuMoto valve. Shift knob. Uhm ... that's pretty much it. Already met most of my expectations when I bought it. |
Just picked one up used a couple days ago and got tints (just rear and rear quarters so I don't get hassled by cops) and a head unit. I was thinking rims, but I'll probably wait till after winter.

My first cosmetic mod was changing the small round mirrors for oval ones on my 64 Impala but that was 45 years ago so not sure if relevant.
|
My first cosmetic mod was to install turn signals, from JC Whitney, on my 1948 Chevrolet.
Oh, on my FR-S? I had a Kenwood head unit installed, because I wanted a nav system and XM radio. |
First "Mod" on my FFRS?
Removing the giant ass fuckboi wheels and going back to stockers. |
Washed and waxed it for the first time yesterday....5th year of ownership. I feel it really brought the car to another level.
|
Wheels, although that could be considered a performance mod as well with the tire change.
First pure cosmetic mod was clear side markers. |
