Subaru BRZ sets September 2020 Sales Record

"The three performance models were up big last month, with the BRZ sports coupe posting a 126 percent increase, while the sport-tuned WRX and performance-tuned WRX STI posted a 47 percent increase in September."

Nice to see that the BRZ is still selling strong. No wonder why ...

is worth mentioning that the 2018 models and up have been considered the most reliable of the Subaru lineup.

Interesting - I assumed they hardly made any. They've been hard to find around here. I originally wanted to buy new earlier this year, but couldn't find a manual in red or black. Finally, a 2017 86 came up that was in great condition and I jumped on it.

People are seeing how ugly the second gen will be—I don’t blame them...

Yes same here. I had to travel almost half the UK to get a last edition BRZ model. I could find just 2 cars in the whole UK!

Look closely:

The 2020 Subaru BRZ sold only 251 units in September 2020, but that was a 126 percent increase over September 2019.

Still impressive for a car near the end of it's run and during a global recession

pallen 10-08-2020 11:28 PM

ok, so the "all time record" was all of Subaru for one month - not the BRZ alone.
Quote:

After a slow first half of 2020 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, this was the first month of 60,000+ vehicle sales (60,103) for the Camden, N.J. automaker. Subaru is still behind (-16.9 percent) last year's record pace with 436,560 year-to-date sales compared with 525,329 in 2019.
So, people put off buying a car for several months due to Covid, and then everyone decided they had waited long enough and went shopping in September. Sales are still down for the year though...

Should have bought a Crosstrek instead of a Veloster Turbo for a daily driver...:bonk:
