2015 BRZ rear suspension problem
Bought this car a month ago with 41000 miles. It handled great. No problems.
Now all of a sudden the traction control or stability control is activating a lot sooner that when I first got the car. The rear is not as solid as it was. It feels like it floats out when cornering. Also during acceleration I hear what sounds like tires rubbing. I know it's not that. Is this what the stability control sounds like when active? Best I can guess is something in the rear broke or is loose or slipped. Seems like its getting worse. Any ideas what could have happened? Also the car has no mods that I know of. Thanks in advance and hello to everyone. |
Could be an alignment issue. Maybe a toe issue. I'd get the alignment checked ASAP.

36 psi all the way around?
look at your rear sway bar pickup points/end links or post a picture. |
Are you getting any warning lights?
I had an incident at the track a few weeks ago where a yaw sensor went bad (apparently). It seemed cause the front left to be overworked under hard braking. No lights at this point. Then the VSC warning light came on, and at the next braking zone it just locked the front left, then both fronts :O You might try removing the 40A ABS fuse and see if the car behaves normally. It could be that the VSC is confused and is applying asymmetric braking to "fix" things... |
Ever since I shut my nannies off I stopped getting annoying lights on during hard turns. :happyanim:

No warning lights. I'm taking it to Subaru tomorrow.

Sounds like a bushing to me, but this is also the typical 'diagnostic via internet' dilemma.

Took the car to Subaru and they drove it and diagnosed it as a bad VSC (VDC) Control Module. Only about $1500 for that part.
Thanks to those who responded. |

OUCH [emoji24] I guess that's not something you can just find on the bay eithet.

Plenty of ECM's but none of these. |

The people at Subaru said they had never had an issue like this. I'm just glad the tech was able to drive it and see what I was talking about. He did say it was intermittent but he was able to get it to act up. |

I doubt that’s what’s wrong, sounds more like a wheel speed sensor. I’d call Subaru customer service (1-800-Subaru3) and ask for financial assistance. Customer service will often offer to help pay for a repair.
