Punny! and noted! I'd cry, and this thread would drink my tears.

Team's estimated value hangs around $4.4b, so there'd have to be a city that could absorb and support a franchise of that scale. For comparison, the Blazers and Bucks sit at an estimated $1.8b each. I think we're aight.

4. Noise Regulations

I don't get why people complain about this.

At least the law in CA defines what noise level constitutes an illegal muffler. 95db tested according to a SAE standard.

Texas? http://semasan.com/resources/exhaust...ws-state#Texas

I know it's up to the law enforcement officer to determine, but it's so vague that anyone can determine what is legal or not, just by how good their lawyer is in court.

Some of the other states have pretty absurd sound limitations by comparison... 88db in Oregon, Ohio is 70db for any moving vehicle under 35MPH, Montana is just like California, 95db.

All this has nothing to do with noise regulations, just enforcement of those regulations.

Its because our AR-15 are louder than a car so we don't enforce it.

I have never seen it enforced. A loud stereo, that will get you ticket pretty quickly. About the only other thing they are concerned with is window tint.

And that's my point exactly. At least the law in CA and other states clearly state what constitutes an illegal exhaust and what does not, so there's no arbitrary enforcement of the law (or lack of).

For the longest time California had the state ref run an exhaust enforcement program that provided a certification showing an exhaust to be in compliance with the CVC. I think this was reduced in scope due to the budget cuts around 10 years ago, but at least if you got your exhaust tested you can easily show this to a police officer to prove that your exhaust was street legal.

Wish more states had things like this, so car enthusiasts don't need to tip toe around the issue. As for other states, just because there's no enforcement doesn't mean a whole lot if an officer wants to ruin your day because he didn't like the way you looked at him.

Gosh, how do us lamented Californians (you know, the people in state with the most universities) keep up with these immeasurably clever tactics? Sucks so bad to be hated on the internet by people that don't live here. So bad... I guess we're just going to have to live with ourselves, contemplating your feelings, on the beach in another day of pristine weather, great food, fine women, and a huge economy. It's agony.

GO LAKERS

It was a joke thread!
In fact it was sorta started by a guy from California. He got exactly the reactions he said he would.

Well, East coast girls are hip
I really dig those styles they wear
And the Southern girls with the way they talk
They knock me out when I'm down there
The Midwest farmer's daughters really make you feel alright
And the Northern girls with the way they kiss
They keep their boyfriends warm at night

I wish they all could be California (Girls)
I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California girls

Wow what an incredibly insightful social experiment. Riffing on Wildfires to get a reaction to post in a Troll thread is witty AF. Here's a participation certificate. Be proud, well done!
