Honest Mechanic in Los Angels

Hi everyone! I have a ‘13 BRZ running 130k miles. I love it as much as everyone love theirs in this forum. My question is. Does anyone have an honest mechanic in the LA area? I wanna take it to an honest mechanic that knows our cars and can tell me what’s it wrong with mine and what should I do to keep it for an other 130k miles more. I have my suspicion that maybe my rack and pinion need some work as when I turn sometimes it make some clicking noises. Also, I have some issue with my suspension and shift gear. Anyways, I’m looking for an honest mechanic! Thanks guys!

The only mechanic that is completely honest is yourself, mate

Counterspace Garage are very well known here, and only about 20 miles from Long Beach:

I'm sure they'd look after you, or recommend someone who would. Either way, only a quick run up the 405 to the 710 and 605.

@CSG Mike is often on this forum.

Might want to try the regional subforums.

CSG doesn't actually do general maintenance to street cars, but I'd recommend Mandalay Auto for an independent mechanic.

A bit of a drive for you, but will be worth it. The shop is enthusiast owned.

Actually people lie to themselves more often than others lie to them!
We see some dumbass stuff on here all the time but the backyard "mechanic" thinks he is at a level of perfection unattainable by the poor stupid animals that do it for a living every single day.

There are a lot of honest mechanics. The problem is that they can't stay in business by doing favors or going over others work without charging for it.

the honest mechanics i know are constantly being berated for 'breaking' things that they were never near, or 'causing problems' on the opposite ends of the car that were never sent to them for diagnosis...

How about a guy in Compton who patches bullet holes?

And that's not even true.. how often have you done something to cut a corner... a manual labourer or artisan.
