BRZ on Top Gear?

Anyone know when they'll feature it on Top Gear?

ATL BRZ 08-09-2012 10:42 PM

There won't be any new episodes of Top Gear UK on BBC until early next year. They've already put Jeremy Clarkson in the GT86 and had him review it for the magazine's latest Speed Week issue.

Top Gear America starts again next Tuesday 8/14. It's probably going to suck again this season like it has mostly for the past 2 seasons. Rutledge and Adam are funny but don't know shit about cars and Tanner is a pretty boy douche that wants to drift everything. Most of their challenges are lame or spinoffs of what TG UK have already done.

TG UK is where it's at.

Yes, but do you still watch it? :D

I've watched maybe one or two episodes of TG-USA. Just not anywhere near as good a show.

Almost painful to watch actually. There is no real chemistry between the presenters and it clearly lacks the British mentality that being mean to friends is funny.

Not unless I hear after an episode airs that it was worth watching, then I might download it. Otherwise I stopped watching after giving the first season a chance and being disappointed.

TG UK is my favorite show ever. The production team and the hosts are top notch. I've got hordes of past seasons in HD on my HTPC :)

The blurb from Jeremy is funny. I wonder if he really think it's ugly. Most folks I've talked to -- even ones that say its over-hyped and over priced -- admit it is one beautiful car from the outside

I thought TG USA had potential. None of them are a patch on 5th Gear though.

There's already a Top Gear magazine articles about the 86. The actual show will not be shown until late January/early February 2013.

Everybody who loves the rebooted Top Gear UK hates to be reminded about the first few seasons. They weren't great. They were occasionally good, but usually fell flat. It wasn't a great show. The chemistry came over time (and with the swapping out of a cast member). Even the original Top Gear was hit or miss. It was more Consumer Reports than anything else, with Clarkson being an unusually vibrant character for the series.

Point being, keep watching. Or at least go watch the first season of the rebooted Top Gear and understand that the kind of magic you expect doesn't form overnight.

If you take it as B-Level comedy rather than a car show you can enjoy it. :P

Tonight, on Top Gear; Richard races some youths in a Renault, James talks to a girl, and I go sideways, in an Aston Martin!

I'm sorry, but I, like others, prefer the UK Top Gear. Maybe it's the accents, maybe it's the fact there are no commercials, or maybe it's just better (imo). I have all 18 seasons saved on one of my HDDs. :)

They did talk about the car in the last season, but it wasn't released yet. I'm sure it'll be on the next season.

Every now and then, I'll watch an episode before I go to sleep. Although, I don't remember which episode I left off at. Guess I'll have to start over. :D

I enjoy the UK version more as well. The US version is better than the horrible Aussie version at least (post first US season, which was horrible).

However I don't consider any Top Gear TV show as an actual car review show, it's comedy that just happens to have cars in it.
