Car not starting in the thick smoke in Oregon
Ok so, my car died on the freeway. I lost power steering first then pulled over, and now my car won't start at all. Checked the battery terminals and they look good. Checked for any loose connections and didn't find any. My dash lights up when turning the key and I can hear the fuel pump prime but it doesn't crank. Any ideas? Car has 69k on it. I've had a uel header and oft tune on it for about a year now. Car has never done anything like this before. Also a few miles before this happened, I hit a bump and it was liked my car turned off then back on quickly. Also I live in Oregon and there has been an insane amount of smoke today, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Checked the intake (stock) and it looked fine. I did a quick search and didn't find something quite matching my situation so figured I'd start a new thread. Thanks in adavance.

How are your ground straps looking?

All right, have you tried booking jumper cables or a jump pack to it? It's possible for it to have enough battery to illuminate the dash and not turn the starter. If it's a standard car, have you tried having someone push you and then dropping the clutch to pop start it? Also if manual, make sure there's nothing stopping the clutch pedal from depressing the switch, like a jammed up floor mat. |
A jump didn't work. I'll pop start it to get it home at least. Maybe a fuse? And no codes. Actually my oft isn't reading anything.

Is your ECU well grounded?
Are the big fuse things on top of the battery not blown? |
Wait think I found the fuse, will report back if it's fixed

Took subaru a day to get the fuse in but popped it in and she started right up. It was just the one on the positive battery terminal. Plastic piece with 2 fuses and 3 wires hooked up to it. Thanks for suggestions everyone (humfrz got it!) :)

Glad you got it fixed -

Weird, any mods that could have caused the fuse to blow?
