$3000 Tomioka Turbo kits???

This is my 1st time posting and any form about any topic whatsoever. I do not know how to search nor navigate for any information on the Tomioka kits, i am sure someone has done it. Is it a Chinese Ebay quality kit? Or is it descent enough to provide me the 300 hp I want to hit? Quality and reliability? Thanks!

They are a real company but I think their kit is just a copy of the hks kit. Everyone is going to tell you go with JDL kit. I say be different lol. $3k vs $4k?

Copy that, sounds like this page needs someone to take that leap of faith because youtube is empty on the topic of this specific turbo!

My thing is that everyone will tell you JDL, FBM etc... Honestly if you like it and its all you can afford I say go for it. Just find a good tuner.

Looks like yet ANOTHER copy of the GReddy kit.

As far as different goes, I kind of like the AVO kits that keeps the turbo (and its heat) out of the middle of the engine bay. I just dont know about AVO vs Garret for the turbo itself.

Get the SBD kit over the Tomioka kit in the $3k range.

It has been around a while and has several improvements over the Greddy kit. The SBD just recently got updated with a faster spooling turbo similar to a Garrett G-series turbo.

The SBD kit also has a much larger user base and support network. There is a decent Facebook group for the SBD kit as well.

The price difference is more than $1k for a JDL kit equivalent to the SBD kit.

The following configuration of the JDL kit is equivalent to the SBD:
- GTX3076R Gen II
- EL Manifold
- Recirculated Dump Tube
- Black Cerakote Heat Coated Intercooler
- Pre-welded Oil Pan
- Omni 3 Bar MAP Sensor

That setup is $5,584 on the JDL site. Which makes the JDL kit actually $2,414 more expensive than the SBD kit. A G-series turbo for the JDL would actually be a couple hundred more but you can't select it on the JDL online configurator.

With that being said, if I was going to turbo my car I would probably save up the extra $2,500-ish for a JDL kit with a G25-550 turbo. The thing is, the total price of going FI is actually $10-15k when you actually add up the cost of supporting mods and tuning.

Article on the Garrett G-series: https://motoiq.com/nerd-o-scope-hone...turbochargers/

New SBD Kit: https://spdbydesign.com/product/sbd5...-brzscion-frs/

Not much info on the SBD site about the new turbo. The kit is now called the G500x with the upgraded turbo. You would have to check out the SBD FB group for more detailed info.

I know the G-Series turbo but I didn't SBD was getting that for there kit. I got kicked from there group it seems. Homie didn't like me asking for a UEL variant. Oh well I could care less. Still wouldn't buy a SBD Kit.
