Wisefab TRACK suspension drop knuckle kit
 

Hey guys. I came across these when looking at the 2J powered Evasive Motorsports FRS that recently climbed Pikes Peak. The car has been around for a few years but I took special attention to it this year when I noticed it still ran the oem suspension mounting points (Pretty sure). Most twins built to this level have converted to a double wishbone setup. Evasive chose to run this wisefab kit that drops the center of the hub to maintain the correct suspension geometry even though the car has been lowered. I also like that for one purchase you convert to heim joints and have adjustable everything. The SPL front LCAs are $1k USD by themselves.

Other than a $5,500 usd price tag for the front and rear kit, what do you think? Would this type of thing really make a huge difference? I would love to test these out on a typical track build.

I thought this was only for slidey bois and burnout racing. Besides more steering angle and the extra adjustment, subframe risers and bumpsteer tierods will get you the same benefits but to a lesser degree for like $400?

I thought Wisefab was a drifty boi company as well. I just found out that they make grip stuff too. The drift kit is for more steering angle. This is the track setup which is not concentrated on correcting suspension geometry with added steering angle. I am more interested in the drop knuckle and heim joint portions of this kit. Even if you could get the same amount of drop with risers and tie rods, it would cost a ton to switch every rod/mount to heim joints. Also. tie rods only help in the front. Wisefab also a kit for the rear. Which is where the twins can benefit most with suspension travel.

Diving further into this worm hole, I found a kit from "Parts shop Max" that just includes drop knuckles and drop upper control arms for $850. These seem more fro the drifty bois though. I wont link the site here because it seems kinda sketch.

Parts shop max is legit! I have bought many things from them, like subframe riser/diff bushings.

Even if they were magicical Is there $5k worth of lap time reduction there vs putting that money elsewhere, better shocks, lighter weight, freshly fresh tires, private coaching?

Not that the thought hasn't crossed my mind. I just don't see the value prop. I would also think the rear could be accomplished via a custom subframe.

100% agree. Although I would rather have these than deal with a custom subframe. Just more curious than anything. As much as I would love these parts, a supercharger would guarantee faster lap times at the same cost.

The rears are 100% worth it. Front value is not as strong, but also worth it for the convenience.

The vast majority of 86 Wisefab kits in NA are all via CSG, btw.

I'm actually trying to sell my 17 turbo brz, to do a 2020 with a wisefab kit front and rear.

I was hoping you would chime in on this. Thank you for your input. Can you explain why the rears are worth it?

RC, all sphericals, quick stepped alignment adjustment, at less than the cost of pressing in a full set of sphericals, and/or going full SPL + RC + sphericals for the rest. Plus, the Wisefab is significantly lighter than stock.

No brainer to me for anyone serious about doing suspension right.
