nikitopo's final edition

Hello everyone! I am presenting a journal of my new car. It is a 2020 final edition UK model in Lapis Blue pearl colour. The Lapis Blue was not a standard colour offering for the BRZ and it was supposed to be built in 61 units. However, factory stopped production (Covid-19) and only a handful of them arrived in dealers just a few months before the crisis. So, it is a quite rare colour over here. Other changes by the factory include:

• Dark Metallic Wheels
• Tan coloured stitch and tan leather (side) + Alcantara (Main)
• Upgraded Audio
• Upgraded SACHS Dampers

The interior is same with the one used in the 86 Hakone edition. A difference is that the BRZ has additionally tan leather on the door panels and a BRZ seatback logo. The plan is to keep it stock as it'll be a daily commuter and don't want to ruin the originality of a special model.

very handsome package

edit: hmm, never knew that space next to the power mirror adjustment was for power folding mirrors..
then again, was mindblown when my brz friend could open his trunk w/o the key or the latch in the driver compartment. AND that the trunk lid had a lining.

the little things. base 86/frs life.

or maybe power folding mirrors is a standard overseas thing..

What happened to your white BRZ?

nikitopo 08-30-2020 11:30 AM

I still have it for the moment, but I couldn't move it to UK. I needed a right hand drive car. I drive it when I go back to homeland. The white BRZ is a great car and certainly faster, but it evolved having too many changes. Up to a point saying many times that I need a race track to exploit its full potential. So, this is another reason to keep this one stock just for street driving and fun.

I am looking to apply either ceramic coating or wax. Each one has its advantages and disadvantages. I am placing here a video about their differences explained.

Car is still under preparation by the dealer. Car mats are considered here as an accessory and not as a standard equipment. First thought was to fit a set with blue edge trim cause of the exterior colour, but then I saw the seatback BRZ logo. So, I ordered a set with silver edge trim to make a match.

;)

I have the ceramic coating which has worked pretty well.. it always comes up shiny.. But it won't protect the paint from stone chips. For my next new car I will go back to a wrap.

I got the ceramic done on the Hakone and at first was not impressed at all. It did nothing a good wax wouldn't do better. Then I found out that they neglected to tell me it takes about 3 weeks to fully cure and work properly. Now I love it and will have it done on any new cars that I buy. Makes cleaning it a breeze and with just a light wash looks like I spent hours waxing it.

Pictures after finishing the car detail. We started with a single stage machine polish, then we applied a sealant for color protection and easier cleaning.

Not much news from UK. We are constantly opening and closing between lockdowns. Looking forward for the Spring season ...
