At this point it is just a rumour started by Best Car magazine with zero official statements to support it.
Could be completely accurate, partially true or total bullshit for all we know.
The only thing we know for sure is they stopped taking orders for the 2020s but that happens every year around now anyway.
All the stuff about the new platform and high HP engine has been thrown away by the other sites months ago.

4cyl supra performance for half the price? I can't see it happening.

I could see it happening when the horsepower wars gets way too ridiculous that 300hp econoboxes have become the norm and is the new minimum acceptable power level.
