Whiteline Sway Bar Mount Support

I recently upgraded the sway bars on my 2013 FR-S to some Whitelines. Pretty happy with them so far, aside from the clunking that comes and goes.

Doing some interweb browsing, I noticed several references to how flimsy the rear sway bar mounts are, and how it would be a good idea to get something to support them. I checked with Whiteline and they offer this one, which is a simple brace using stock locations. I was about to order these but noticed they were out of stock.

I decided to check eBay and typed in the Whiteline part # (KBR38) and I found a totally different part. Claims to be a Whiteline offering but when I checked with them they said under that part # it's still the brace.

Just checking to see if anyone has any experience with the eBay one. Seems to just fortify the current mount from different directions. Hard to tell how it installs, and without Whiteline's info it's a little suspect.

Thanks

I’m gonna go ahead and guess this is just a generic image that the eBay seller decided to use for this product. If you ordered they would most likely send you those 2 silver braces/bars.

Makes sense. Strange way to sell products but oh well.

I've got clunking too. I got a 22mm bar and a set of the tubular mount braces to the subframe from Whiteline, and another set of braces from Pedders and it is still clunking.

Properly installed swaybars don't clunk! It's probably not the braces.

The braces don't run in the direction of the reaction force the sway bar imparts onto the chassis. They would make a small difference in stiffness at best, and that assumes you have very big sways to exacerbate the lack of stiffness. Contrary to popular belief Subaru actually knows what they're doing and the sway bar bracket on the chassis is adequate for most sway bars.

Something else is clunking. End links?
I noticed the whiteline bars don't have side-to-side limiters. Is the bar centered?

Yes, from what I've found (at least according to Whiteline) if your sway bars can't be moved up or down with minimum force, the mounts are too tight. I need to add some washers, or shims, in the mounts (that hold the bushings) until it's loose enough to move easy. Front and back. It's one of those long afternoon projects, especially without a lift.
