Did you buy it privately? Maybe you can find the previous owner.

I bought it privately, but the person I bought it from bought the car in the same state that its in already from a dealer. I dont think they even knew what they had.

It has an ecu tune most likely by ECUTek. The easiest way to know if it has or not is pull your cruise control stalk towards you and the rev counter will move to 1,2,3 or4K RPMs indicating the tune options.
The above post is correct on when its activated but during tune, the tuner can set it to come above a certain RPM or more commonly above a certain speed , say 30 Kmph.

Today I learned my car has an ECUTek tune.

:)

I respectfully disagree. I would say that a very high percentage of drivers of these cars brake and downshift simultaneously. Some of them even learn to blip the throttle manually while doing so, which is what you will do when you disable the Ecutek autoblip. Enjoy your car dude :)

:)

It's called heel\toe downshifting and is a necessary skill on the track.

Oh, that remark was directed to the OP, who is 18 and has only had his FR-S for about a week. What I meant by "customary" was the normal procedures followed by average drivers under normal driving conditions.

;)

I say again:

I wasn't referring to track driving - :)

Gotcha. I didn't notice his age.

Either way, the OP should disable the autoblip and learn to heel-toe, if he can't already that is...

If the engine is running, and you're in gear, and your foot isn't on the clutch, the car is going to move, or stall.

It only does it when around 30-40 and only when the brake is engaged. Is this something that all of them do or did the person previous to me make it do this?

My car has the EcuTek tune, when downshifting from high revs it auto-blips.

Just in case anyone doesn't know what I mean,I was referring to most "sports" cars getting rid of the third pedal in favor of paddle shifters. Most of those cars come with auto rev matching, which is a sad thing that auto makers are making cars less "fun" and engaging to drive.
