Finally got my Galaxy Blue Silica BRZ
Hi everybody, I've been on this forum for about 3-4 months now and finally feel that I should make a post because I finally got a brand new car after having 3 used ones (97 Saturn SL2, 01 Saturn SC1, and 04 Mazda 6). So my story first starts when I was looking at new cars that I would want to buy and I always respected Subaru's and love the way the STI sedan looks but I don't need the AWD and the gas mileage on that is comparable to a Honda Pilot :eyebulge: Yea no way I can do that. So I was looking at the new mazda 6 that was suppose to be redesigned for 13 but I guess they pushed it to 2014 which was a buzz kill to me.
So I kept visiting different manufacturers website until I say the BRZ the first time online. Intial thought was "What the heck is that? Damn it looks really good but probably has AWD." Then I read more into it and once it said 4 cylinder, RWD, lower center of gravity, manual, HID's, navigation, dual exhaust, rear spoiler, push button engine start, automatic climate controls, heated seats, bluetooth with bluetooth audio, digital speedometer, fog lights, DRL LED's, coupe, LED taillights, and it has the rear fog light setup which I loved when I first saw it on the Civic Mugen RR, I was like did God just answer all my request for what I want in a car. Then I found that Subaru was only making 6,000 of them and was like oh boy this might be tough to get.
Now knowing that this was my dream car I started saving up my down payment and went through which I think is normal for all of us after reading other people's post, the color change. At first I wanted WRB and my finance said I should get the GBS. Then after awhile I was like WRB might be too flashy and switched to DGM but then got a lil tired of that and finally landed on GBS which she picked in the first place and it was absolutely the right color for me even though I've never seen it in person. So time to put in my order.
I live in the bottom part of central jersey or top of south jersey in Bayville which is right underneath Toms River. So I started emailing dealers seeing f they had marked them up and Toms River was $3200 and the others ranged from $1,000-2500 and me working at a dealer in sales was not about to pay any more than MSRP. So thanks to these forums I found 2 dealers in north jersey that were selling at MSRP and one of them had a $500 non-refundable deposit which I didn't like and the other was Paul Miller Subaru. So I saw another member deatl with Charles Turner and I decided to email him and put my order in on 07/02/12 and my eta if I was lucky was 09/15/12. The waiting game begins!!! Now fast forward 1 MONTH later and I see my car on their website on saturday night and start flipping out in enjoyment because it looks like they got my GBS BRZ limited manual with chrome fender trim and chrome fuel door but I wasn't 100% sure it was mine because I see that most of you have waited longer than that to get yours. So between Saturday night and Monday mourning I pretty much didn't get any sleep because I started getting anxiety because I wanted to know if that was actually my car. Found out that it was :happyanim:. My dream car was then finally taken home on 08/08/12 and it was well worth driving about 2 hours north to get it because it was sooooooo much fun driving it 2 hours back home :bellyroll:
Only have 111 miles on it so far but this car feels so solid and responsive and love the reactions of other people in their cars break their neck to look at my car. Once I figure out how to post pics I will but gotta head to work now so I try it later.
