Cradle and diff bushings/inserts
My rear diff mounts are starting to crack and was wanting to know other peoples experiences with inserts or full bushing replacement.
How hard are the rear bushes to remove. Car is my daily and track hack, turbo with coilovers and cusco 2 way diff. Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk |
The rears are not bad, Hole saw the majority of it out and use an airsaw to cut a slit in the outer race. Hit it with a chisel till it starts to collapse then wack it good with a punch.
The outriggers I used a 10 ton press and just pushed them out. They are going to be a PITA if you don' have access to a good press and a buddy to support the diff. |
BURN EM OUT

It's more than likely going to be me flying solo in the garage.
No press. Just wondering if its something that can be done without a press or not. Its rare that I've had to use a press other than the oversized nolathane bushes on other manufacturers lca's.. So if its doable il order the full replacement bushes for subframe, diff mounting and the shifter mounts at the same time. Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk |

I am sure you could get the outrigger bushings of the diff out with shop tools. I have a lot of presses on hand so that is what I used. They are pretty hefty though.
The subframe bushings are a pain in the ass since they are so large. That is one I would absolutely recommend burning out. I again used an air saw to slit those and then collapsed and knocked them out with an air chisel. |
