Selling stock engine

So in preparation for my engine swap, I’m pulling my stock engine and selling it to gain some funds for the swap. The engine has 44k miles and has never seen boost. How fast do these engines usually sell? I’m seeing the most common price being 3200-3500, I’m planning on listing mine for around 2500 to sell it quicker. Would selling it on eBay / FB marketplace within a month be a realistic expectation? I would be willing to ship it too.

Really depends on how clean it looks, if it comes with engine harnesses, if it has rust on the pulleys, etc

I'd recommend putting it on eBay if you've got a way of shipping it. Of course, you can list it here too.

Does it have the valve spring recall done yet?

Mine is a 2013 out of Japan, the recall doesn’t apply to them (from what I’ve researched). So far I’ve had zero issues.

I’d sell it with basically everything. Pulleys are clean, car never saw a winter.

They are all out of Japan but as long as a VIN search doesn't show the recall all is good. It is important info to have for a buyer.

I sold mine for $2500 shipped but I had it listed on FB marketplace and brz/frs FB groups. That way you dont take the big hit from ebay fees. But it was a 2014 engine with 22k miles. Just keep in mind the ebay fees (10%!).

Yes that’s what I meant, my vin starts with ‘J’ which is one of the vins without the recall

How did you crate and ship your engine when you sold it?

I got a free pallet from a local company (just made a post on my local car facebook group asking for one and somebody was quick to give it away). Bought a pack of 3 strap and ratchet tie downs from harbor freight for like $6. Strapped the engine onto a pallet and saran wrapped it a little bit afterwards. Shipped it via UShip and made sure to let them know its a pallet and I dont have a forklift. The shipper had liftgate service.
