Where can I secure my handgun while in transit?

I live in Charoltte, NC where gun laws require handguns must be in locked glove box or trunk. I don`t have CCW permit and FR-S doesn`t have locking glove box.

The glovebox is barely big enough for the manual... I would say the trunk where they put the plate mount kit. Personally I put mine behind the passenger seat in the pocket. Lean the seat forward a click and drop er' in.

Get your CCW. Problem solved.

You can put it in the trunk with the rear-seats up, and hope that appeases them (since you can't access the trunk from the cabin that way). Or get a different car.

This car sucks when it comes to security, no locking glove box or alarm system.

I've yet to ever have a need for a locking glove box and people just ignore alarms.

He needs one to comply with a state law.

In that case @speedy racer you're probably going to need to get a small lock box and put it in the trunk in a corner or something.

Probably good moderation at work here.

I'm glad I live in Australia.

Locked in a case and in the truck is sufficient, even with our backseats. Or he could get a CCW.

Some reading material
http://www.ncdoj.com/getdoc/32344299...-gun-Laws.aspx

http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/northcarolina.pdf (page 6)

What I get out of this is it just needs to be out of your reach. However if your not just transporting to and from the range or from the store, I would highly advise you get a concealed permit.
