Interesting. I wonder what the LCD would do on a 2013 model?

Should be the same then. Did all the features work? Not sure if the G-sensors and other readouts needed an updated ECU to work.

All sensors and lights work such as angel sensor, traction control, fuel tank, track mode, sport mode etc. There is jut no button to control the LCD screen and the mileage needs to be corrected. A folk in this forum can make it work and he built an push button to make LCD work on before 17 models. You may check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhLV551YVm4.

Yeah. I should cite Gerald's post here. But I only added him to my FB.

What did you use it for and why're you getting rid of it?

e30cabrio 11-02-2020 08:29 AM

Bump for a great addition and Gerald. He set my miles and returned the cluster immediately.

I used to run it on my 2014 BRZ, but upgraded my gauge cluster to a GR version.

Nice, that cluster looks sexy AF. How is it at night though? The white part of the LCD I feel would light up my eyes in the dark.

At least better than the orange color of the 13-16 model to me.... The contrast can be modified so white LED just looks fine.

Yes! Check out this link: https://youtu.be/rhLV551YVm4

The main difference from 17+ BRZ gauge cluster is in the middle. Other than that, the difference is nothing much. I feel I like the white background in the middle a bit better, so I bought the TRD one and sold the 17+ BRZ cluster 100 buck cheaper than what I paid originally.

The creator of that video Mr. Gerald can modify the mileage to match that on your ECU and he developed a chip-based button ads-on that can makes before 17+ model control the LCD screen.

I have seen this guys work, and he's pretty awesome at what he does. I did send him a message for more information but I haven't heard back from him.

I was wondering if it was just a plug and play thing.

How much are you selling the cluster for?

It is 100% safe to say that it is plug-n-play for push-button start. Some people said that it also works for key start, too. I am not 100% sure about that because I’m running a limited BRZ with keyless start.

The lowest price will be $350 plus shipping because the TRD gauge cluster cost more than the 17+ BRZ one...

Nice! Well i was unfortunate not being able to find a push to start FR-S for the price i wanted. But i do want to upgrade a few things including the cluster, auto climate controls, and push to start, just doing my research. Unfortunately the cluster you’re selling is a little outside of my budget but i appreciate the information and your time!

Happy new year to you, too.

My car is key start. I haven’t downloaded techstream yet or bought the controls from Gerald, so it’ll likely be a Spring project.

I’m pretty excited to install it and the other Gerald products, a backup camera, gauges and other very nice to haves!

Glad I could get the cluster from you.

Have any pics of that TRD Gauge cluster?

Sorry my dude...Both of TRD and 17+ BRZ clusters were sold to other folks cuz they were at a good deal I think...There are some 17+ clusters on eBay sold by LeeCparts or some other companies. I can look them up if you need!
