Typically do my oil changes with Penz. 0W-20 using the JDM Subaru filter until I noticed at work my second source allows me to order this stuff.

I'm under the impression that this oil is what our cars come prefilled with before they send them over from Japan. Was able to get the 6Q through my job for $32.00 :happyanim:

Oil is oil.
Fan boy oil is just oil with a higher price tag. Still oil at the end of the day.

I think like anything else, sometimes it's nice to spend extra, even if there's not a lot of difference except the brand. I'm definitely guilty of buying a few parts because of the brand (blitz SS bov for my 3000GT, because I liked Blitz as a brand). I do think it's worth it to buy an oil you prefer- I haven't used Eneos but I'm a huge fan of the Royal Purple oil. I like how it smells when it's burning on my exhaust (I'm being serious)

Used to go with a couple well known brands, then on a whim I did some research into the "Genuine Toyota" stuff. It's basically a Mobil full synthetic with a custom additive package that's helpful for intermittent or low temp operations, and the shear characteristics are a little nicer. It's a similar cost for 6 quarts and the oil comes out visibly cleaner during changes. Used oil analysis has also come back with nothing but better than average news.

Take that as you will; I've also used Amazon Basics full synthetics in the Matrix, and have no complaints for the price point. Knowing Toyota's heavy investment in hybrid tech, it makes sense that their oil is more geared towards wear prevention for frequent start-stop cycles. I'll take the long term benefits given I live in a cold weather climate and do frequent short city trips.

Oh for sure, like I said I typically run Pennzoil until I realized I could get this cheaper than I could penzoil at walmart haha

I think the filter is the more important part anyways. I only use the genuine black filters on my car and I change my oil every 4500 miles. My commute to and from work is roughly 25 miles combined. Miles creep up on the car haha

Good deal! I ran Eneos Sustina before on previous cars and really liked it. I think they discontinued the Sustina line and have one model now. But I just picked up 12 quarts, figured I'd try new oil again after switching to E85.

Do you have any idea what makes the Sustina different from the regular Eneos? (Besides the badass label on the Sustina bottles ;) )

I wish I could get Sustina at work. Just regular eneos, and Motul for slightly more. I used to run Motul but man is it expensive expensive. I change my oil too frequently to run it.

I drive about 8500 miles a year. I'll easily change my oil at least 3-4 times a year just to do it. cost me less than $40 to do it so why not.

Ive been using Eneos for a few changes now. But I get the Purple label stuff. I dont know about Dexos. The Sustina line is designed for Hybrid engines and has a lot more detergents in it to prevent deposits from not getting hot.
