Gap in Head Unit area??
 

I just sold my Bespoke headunit and currently riding around in silence =/. i already have the headunit i wanna put in picked out and i should be ordering it on the 14th. Long story short, will i have to find a special piece to close any gaps that might linger on the side of the unit? Also, for anyone who've already installed an aftermarket HU, what harness did you guys use? i'd appreciate the help!

checked out the DIY and dont know why i never read the top completely (im an idiot). BUT im not good with electronics. I've put in a few audio systems but i was never the batman, i was more like robin. I'd like to get it done without cutting ANYTHING (if possible). any ideas?

I'm still looking for a solution that doesn't require Modification.
The metra 95-8202 that most here use requires cutting to fit. I started a thread to ask but haven't heard of any options

I solder. The dude wanted to know the EASIEST way without cutting. Soldering requires cutting. Or well, usually involves it anyway.

If he cant solder and doesnt have the time/willing to learn then he may as well bring it some where or have a friend that can solder do it. Theres no point in doing it halfassed to save a few dollars.

Agreed. I've installed all my friend's audio units, soldering and taping each time. There were probably a few cold solders, but that's better than a vampire tap or quick connect coming loose.

I know how to solder. Im an comm troop in the USAF and i have to be able to to fix circuit boards and cards for my satellite equip. I was just hoping there was a harness available to get it done cleanly. If i have to cut i will. Just wanted a quicker solution.

I'll let you know if i find a nice, CLEAN way of gettin the gap fixed. My co-worker is a fabrication and audio electronic genius and I'm pretty sure he'll figure out a way to fab it so that it comes out clean if i ask him to. I'll keep ya updated man:party0030:

you can use a harness that plugs into the factory ports. Its a metra part # 70-1761. when you use that it still has open ends on the other side which will need to be soldered to the harness that comes with your radio. I assume this is the soldering everyone is talking about, you can cut your factory harness off and solder the aftermarket radio connections directly on, but it is a bunch of extra work tracking down color codes and its harder to revert back to factory if you ever want to.
