Champion 7445 Spark Plugs

I'm about to reach 100,000 km on my 2016 FR-S and I should be replacing the spark plugs soon. After doing some research on the forums, the consensus is to buy spark plugs from the dealer as there aren't many options out there for us.

After checking some parts sites, I came across the Champion 7445 spark plug which is stated to be compatible with the 86 on numerous sites such as Parts Avatar, Rock Auto etc. for about $10 CAD/each this seems to be a bargain compared to the Denso spark plugs which are roughly $30 CAD/each.

There's only one post on the forums referring to this spark plug, however the post only confirms that the Champion spark plugs will fit, it doesn't talk about their performance.

What are your opinions on the Champion 7445? Should I just stick with Denso and spend the extra $$$?

Nobody has ever had trouble with OEM plugs. I don't see the sense in changing the formula just to save $60. Imagine the headache if the car starts running like junk in 15,000km and you have to do them again!

Yep, considering the time and trouble it takes to change the plugs and the infrequency that it's necessary, why change from a proven product just to save a few dollars?

I also would suggest going with OEM style plugs.

I have just looked online and prices are all over the map for this item. I don't know why. Last place I looked it was $21.99 for all four plugs. That's Denso in Toyota boxes.
Some brands of plugs are as cheap as $2.49 each. Seems this is a specific item for parts retailers to easily attempt to rip off the customers.

All prices way cheaper than what you stated that you found.

Can you have stuff shipped at USA prices...OR...have someone buy them for you and ship to you ?

Or spend much more time price searching online...

I only searched a very little:

I would echo what everyone above said... stick to OEM plugs..not worth saving 60$

I just changed my plugs on my 13 FRS and they lasted me till 180k km!! Decided I had pushed them long enough... not sure if those 7445s could stand the same test of time

I would not go from Iridium (OEM) to double plat.
