Crank but no start after clutch rep.

As the title states, my engine will turn over but not start. The only thing I can think of is the wire that comes off of the harness near the crank (it's an L shaped bracket that appears to be a ground). I cant for the life of my remember where it goes.

If it's a ground then stick it anywhere with good metal to metal contact

I think the one you’re talking about goes right over the starter bolt hole and the trans/starter bolt holds it down

I got that back on but still nothing. Also did spark plugs but coils are all back on.

Make sure the DI module bolts are tight.

If you need pictures as an example let me know. I have my car handy and partially torn apart.

So my throttle body makes a humming noise as long as the key is in the "on" position. I've never noticed it before but I don't think it's normal.

Also, say I had a bad coil or plug, the car would probably start even if it was with a misfire?

Bad coil or plug would misfire and likely still start. It would give you a CEL usually too.

How can i check for spark? Doesn't seem practical the old school way because of the flat 4 configuration

Check fuses.
Check all the elec plugs on passenger side of engine.
A few other things that will keep it from starting is intake cam sensors, direct injection fuel pressure sensor and maybe crank sensor.
I know this is stupid but did you put the crank reluctor on correct? It happens.

Crank reluctor? Fuses are next.

You could hook up a timing light. That'll prove spark.

The ring behind the flywheel with teeth on it. It has a dowel that has to be lined up for correct crank position.
