this just looks like its going to be so loud due to most exhaust gasses not going into the muffler. its pretty much a muffler delete

That axleback section doesn't make much sense lol. Why have a muffler at all if you're going to have a straight pipe to bypass it?

Color me confused on this one...

There's a restrictor to the top.

I've heard the prototype, and I liked the sound (I also hate loud exhaust). There will be video and dynos to come. I'm not a shop guy, just a customer.

I don't even...

This is far from the first time an exhaust has done this. The original 4th gen F-body Borla systems used a bypass and replaceable restrictor plates to adjust the noise. This one, the exhaust flow runs perpendicular to the bypass. Under high load, a lot of it is going to go through the muffler. I'll bet this has an idle that's louder than most with a pronounced sound around town. But at WOT it probably wan't be much louder than a more conventional system.

I had a P&L Signature Series on my GG WRX (GD generation, wagon chassis code for newbies). It was loud and had great tone. Did I mention it was loud? Probably looking for something quieter this time around.

That is the dumbest looking exhaust I have seen for this car yet. Why even put a muffler on the one end? 80% of the flow is going to look for the easiest way out through the straight tip.

Maybe they were going for the flow characteristics of a single muffler, single outlet exhaust with the symmetrical look of a dual exhaust.

That is also not a great photo of the axleback due to the angle that the exhaust is hanging/i am standing. The main pipe flows the majority of the exhaust into the muffler, while the restrictor still allows some gas to escape through the "direct" pipe.

I left the car overnight at P&L while they run full tests w/ before and after video. They will also test the crank pulley after the exhaust is installed for all who are curious.

They are also doing pulls in 3rd and 4th gear to show the gearing differences. On my stock car 4th was pulling up to 4hp more than third was.
