Tried searching the forum for videos or comments on this site. Did not see any.

Anyway, Robert Mitchell's video

"Slow Cars Fast: Why Would I Ditch The Supercars for 200HP?!?!" caught my eye.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzf7SUmJh3s

He happens to be the founder of apex nürburg and has quite the fleet of cars one could rent for a trip on the ring.

The comments in the video are quite enjoyable.

BTW. You can rent the 86 for your track day here.

it's interesting, mostly because the nurburg is a more open style track that caters less to the qualities of the car than others.

Yeah. It is an iconic track for many reasons.

toni escriche has a number of 86 vs other cars videos on the ring. (ex 'Gt86 vs corvette c6 nurburgring")

I hope to get a chance to visit Germany again soon to visit some friends.
I will seriously contemplate taking some lessons with apex's GT86 on the ring.

That gear miss at the end, haha. Robert sure drives that track with confidence.

I rented some years ago a Megane RS for a track day at Spa from this people. I did around 200 miles (track day has different from than in USA, they are open track format, 8am to 12pm, then 1 hour lunch, an open again from 1pm to 5pm, it was November so at 430pm cars where runing the lights).
Super nice experience and the car was a very good condition, good tires, good brake, good clutch. Not a problem.
My dream is going to the ring, one day it will happen.

I’ve driven that 86 last year, I happened to go with another car and I missed my 86, so I took Apex’s for a couple of laps... Too bad it started to rain right away and the NS2R tires were pretty awful. It was a shame because I really wanted to see the differences with my 86 since it has almost the same suspension but different spring rates, and on top of that all the other mods like final drive, Cusco LSD, etc etc... Some stuff I didn’t like, and being a rental it suffers a lot of abuse.

I hope Robert goes on to build another one for himself.

Power helps a lot around there, for instance my 308 GTi does similar laptimes, even though it destroys the 86 in straight line performance, but the 86 makes up for it with corner speed and with stock power/drivetrain it’s possible to get close to 8:00BTG times, which is pretty remarkable.
I think people don’t expect it to be that “quick” around the Nordschleife and that makes it fun to see their reactions :bellyroll:

I know Toni personally, he did some good laps last year even if he didn’t get a chance to do a clean lap...:burnrubber:

Somewhere on this forum I tripped across a video of one of Toni's runs. It's amazing how capable he is at attacking those curves. I was hooked. Can't wait to watch your channel.

Thought this would be of interest to the group.
FRS/86/BRZ affirmation.
