Ecutek bluetooth connect issue

2 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I got tuned with ecutek at theracersline. I purchased the tune and license. And i later got an ecutek bluetooth dongle. Ive paired it with my phone and the light on the ecutek dongle is solid blue. But when i try to access my car’s data. It just days no vehicle interface. So im confused and just want to datalog my car.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Is your car running when doing this? Have you unplugged and plugged the connector back in? I had to use an ODB2 extender cable to get my OBD2 port to be reliable, I frequently had connection issues previously

Have you tried installing ECUtek on a different Bluetooth enabled device?

i have not. I'm a bit confused what the usb deskey is for though.
I did order a OBD2 port extender, im thinking it is that. But i can't download ProEcu on my computer.

Just to be sure it's said, the Bluetooth kit is meant to connect with the Ecutek Connect Bluetooth app on a smartphone or tablet, it is not meant to interface with a Windows or Mac operating system on a computer.

The deskey is what allows ECUtek proecu to run on the computer, it needs to be in a USB port on the computer anytime proecu is running, your license is tied to that dongle

It's probably the OBD port on the car. The car's pin receivers are pretty wide and have loose tolerance versus the tiny pins on the Bluetooth Connect Module.

If you pick-up an OBD extender/adapter cable, it will probably resolve your issue. That's what I needed for mine because the power pins weren't making good contact.

Yup :bonk:, cause I was bored last night. I tried desperately, it worked! I fiddled with it, and of course, it disconnects but eventually i made it work. I was so happy i left it in there. I recalled reading something about the bluetooth dongle doesnt use much power can even leave on over night. haha I did that.

I ordered an OBD2 extender. The vendor bought the dongle from finally registered my kit, ProEcu yay. all is well. maybe. :party0030:
