Yes, it IS missing! Now, I'll have to buy a 3-D printer and make one for that side - :sigh:

Instead of making a new piece, why don't I remove the one I have, post it over to you? My car will be "balanced" and you'll have a genuine Euro spec part.. just think of the kudos when you go visiting your "squeezes"..

If you install that part on your car, be sure to slam the hood firmly the first time to seat it in there really well.

Good idea!

I can almost see her reaction now, as I explain that is a genuine Euro spec part sent from my buddy in the UK.

it's alright. i think she needs a much more thorough explanation of the differences of the parts.

i volunteer as tribute.

You made me look.....

My car does not have that flexible black plastic piece on the passenger side of hood.

There are all the four holes for attachment, however.

Possibly theres a safety recall in the works for this item.

Maybe they're saving it for the second gen....goes with the turbo ?

First you have to explain to me what that part for - then, maybe, I'll introduce you to her - :iono:

I honestly can't tell if every single person in this thread is trolling or there are some who never mastered spatial reasoning and actually believe that part will fit on their cars.

The cowl panel is not symmetrical. On one side it seals up to the underside of the hood all the way to the edge. On the other side it doesn't because the windshield wiper necessitates a gap. The cowl cover attached to the hood fills in that gap. They fit together like two pieces of a puzzle.

If there's actually a mirror image part for RHD vehicles, it won't fit a LHD car. The holes are there in the hood for you to attach it, but there's no gap on that side for it to fit into when you close the hood. As soon as you drop the hood, you'll hear an alarming crunch as the plastic breaks under the pressure. Considering how light these hoods are, the aluminum will likely bend as well. You might even bend the hood support.

This is why I mentioned spatial reasoning. This is square peg in round hole stuff.
