2020 Hakone Edition 86 - Driver window cycle up/down
 

Recent failure on my 2020 Hakone Edition 86. The driver's side window will not stay in the fully up position when the door is closed. It cycles back and forth between up and down 3/8" for the door close/open setting. Initially it happened and a good door slam or two would cause it to stop, but this last week, I had to park it with the window down in the garage so that the battery would not run down. With the door open, I could push the door switch (located below the latch on the door frame) and it would go up and not cycle. But as soon as I close the door, it cycles.

I have checked all of the postings I could find here on window reset. This did not seem to fix it. The dealer has had it for 2 days, messed a bunch with it and concluded the door switch is malfunctioning. While I am not sure, I will wait for them to get the part in. Since it is Friday before Memorial weekend, I expect to get it back on Wednesday if the switch fixes it. They supplied a 2020 Corolla rental at no charge (which I scrubbed inside and out just in Corona case).

Anyone have any other thoughts on what could cause the constant cycling?

There is something blocking it someplace when the door is closed. Maybe some of the seal is out of place. Only reason I could think that it would do it only with the door closed. If it was the switch you wouldn't think it would matter but suppose it is possible.
