GTS Available for delivery January 2013

Just a quick one as I'm posting this on my phone.

I am surrendering my GTS order in favour of the GT. The order should be built in December for January arrival. It's a Storm Black GTS manual with aero package.

Before anyone asks I am switching because the GTS doesn't provide the blank canvas I require for mods and track work.

If you want this car give me a call on 0404 098 860.

Price will be $42,932 non negotiable. I work at the dealer and have been active here for quite some time. You would be placing an order just like any other 86 purchase with $2000 deposit, signed contract and tracking details all coming direct from the dealer (me).

So m0nty... if customer A cancels their order, shouldn't it be offered to customer B before it goes to open market?
I guess being the customer and the dealer puts you in a harder place than a dealer who simply has an order cancelled, or a customer who wants to offer up their spot in the queue.

I suspect if he a had a customer waiting for a black aero pack, it would have already been offered.

With the current state of things.. its been pretty good of monty to even do it like this..

Can I ask why you think the GTS doesn't provide the blank canvas you require? What are you planning to mod?

As far as I know, the GTS supplies comforts and electronics that wouldn't really affect your modding potential. Unless you're thinking about throwing away the seats, putting in your own audio, bigger tyres/rims?

pretty sure.. considering his last project car.. we will be seeing a pretty unique 86 from mister monty

if you know what Monty has done previously, you would likely understand.

he used to have a DC5 Integra and turned it into a race car and entered WTAC a few years ago.

while i don't know what he has planned for the 86 project, if he wants to go with a GT it sounds like he may have more serious plan now.

Me too.

There was another thread talking about how dealers conduct themselves around cancellations. I am of the opinion that most would put it on the open market.
I know that if I was in the queue for a GTS and had a 12 month wait, I would like to be offered this car regardless of the colour I had ordered. I guess I had some bad experiences so maybe I'm jaded.
But I think m0nty is one of the good ones, don't get me wrong. Like I said its a tough position being the customer and the salesperson.

But I'm not too phased, I have my car.

bastard...

I had already checked my customer orders. Anyone that ordered a GTS with aero is due for arrival the same time as me anyway. No colors matched. I didn't contact all my customers because I saw some of their reactions to the aero package when they originally ordered.

As this was actually my own car the circumstances are different. It would be no different to someone cancelling their order and posting online the availability online, except I have shown diligence of cross checking existing orders before posting here. I'm also selfish and would prefer it goes to one of my customers and even better, someone from the enthusiast community. There's nothing sinister about it.

In relation to why I changed to a GT, brakes, wheels, tyres, aero, exhaust, suspension, intake, tail lights, trim and seats will all be changed day one. I don't need sat nav or push button start so the choice was pretty easy in the end.
