Car at dealership, decided to give them the laundry list..

Long story short, I woke up this morning and must have picked up a piece of glass, which in turn slit the inside side wall of my passenger rear tire - un repairable slow leak. :mad0259:

Local shop says they can't get a tire fast, so local suby dealership says we can get one by noon bring it in.

While I was there, I decided to give them the laundry list of issues i've been having with the car:

1. Engine Cricket
2. Loose gas pedal (shimmy's side to side)
3. Rattle behind dash/steering wheel upon moderate acceleration
4. Idle dip - sounds like the car almost stalls
5. GPS signal loss
6. Rattle in door card
7. Transmission rattle/chatter in 2nd gear decceleration
8. Passenger window down auto button issue

Got a call this afternoon and they want to keep it over night as they have some engineers from Subaru coming down to check the car out tomorrow.

I'll keep you guys posted if they have any answers for any of this stuff. Sort of frustrating as I wasn't expecting to be without the car this week :bs:

I may as well have printed your list for the Toyota center I took mine to this morning.

1. Engine Cricket (more like forest of crickets)
2. Idle dip - the car stalls With Check engine light flashing (I can bet yours would have started to if left as is)
3. Transmission rattle/chatter in 2nd gear deceleration (Jar of marbles sound)
4. Passenger window down auto button issue

I've informed a good friend of mine at Toyota Japan too, he's really surprised this much stuff made it past QA.

Let me know what you hear brett_g

How many miles are on your car?

alrashwa 08-07-2012 06:41 PM

Getting close to 500 this morning. Been watching the RPM to keep it below 4000, but it just never idled well, even when the engine lights were not on.

Meh. First year cars always have problems. Second year sometimes do too. Wouldn't let my wife do that to me.

That's why I'm glad the dealership is just handling everything well so far.. it's understandable. I owned 3 VW's, so i'm not a stranger to warranty work...

You are able to take your car to any Subby dealership right for warranty work? Because I bought mine 100 miles away... :(

You are not bound to the dealership you purchased your vehicle from. You can take it to ANY Subaru dealership for service/warranty work.

Yep. Sales and Service are separate. Does not matter where you bought your car, any dealer will service it.

I'm just glad I haven't seen any of these issues *knock on wood*... except for the passenger's delayed auto scroll. Can the engineers even do anything about that one?

I'm doubhting they will have any answers to be honest. I just want it to go on record that these issues were documented at this point of ownership..
