Catch Can recommendations?
 

I feel like for a catch can there isn't like a crazy front runner to go with, so what would you folks recommend? Thanks in advance!

I have been very pleased with the Verus Engineering AOS, in a drain back configuration so there is no need to drain it. It acts as a dual aos setup, and can be heated as well. A bit pricier, but very well designed. As indicated above, unless you track your car, I would not expect it to be needed for stock NA setup but definitely recommend for FI and a must for built engine. For high HP setup, (say above 250whp) I would recommend an adjustable pcv (wagner) valve with a positive (not passive) ventilation setup as well, to ensure the block is well ventilated and does not build pressure in the crankcase.

Thanks for the recommendation man, yeah so I am tracking the car often in the summers and there are plans for FI in the coming future, so I decided to order an air/oil separator instead so I can cross that off the supporting mods list. Overkill no doubt considering I'm only on Stage 2+ E85 but still works nonetheless..... might still go for the coke can special tho.

Avoid the cheaper ones. I bought an older unbaffled mishimoto catch can and realized it would be useless, never installed it. No way was I was going to put up with nasty rusting catch-can media / steel wool.

Car consumes only 1/2 quart in 3000 miles unmodified at 120k miles. So I have no need for it.

I love the fitment of the Radium catch cans. I have the pcv side and it catches some stuff

The Verus AOS is the best, but it comes in at $550 with the drain kit, cam cover, and coolant add on.

The Radium is probably considered the next best, coming in at $250 with the drain kit.

The Racer X is a solid budget option which includes a drain valve for $180.

Most of the "shiny brand name" items are rubbish.

I've seen $500 brand name "AOS" that were pretty clean on the inside, but, the intercooler was full of oil.

It you set it up properly the first time, you won’t regret it. With the added power of E85, it may be worth putting the wagner adjustable pcv valve on your list as well. People talk a lot about catch cans/aos for handling blow by, but few people talk about managing crank case pressure, which robs power but can also cause reliability issues. Particularly if go plan to go FI, it will protect your engine but also give you better performance/throttle response.

Had I known what I know now, I would have done this a lot time ago.
