tuners near sacramento,ca

Would like to know any good tuners that are near or kind of near sacramento? or closest ones i guess.

Zach does tuning through @The Racers Line. Closest that specializes in the twins.

A normal Subi tuner will not be able to tune as well as someone who knows these cars

You can get to Concord easily on a base map they can provide.

If you really don't want to drive that far I would also suggest a remote tune done by James at HRI.

Not saying Snail will blow up your car but getting gains from the dual injection system on this car has proven to not be easy. Most Subaru tuners aren't really in the FRS/BRZ picture because of it. But it's your car and your money.

Zach is one of the best tuners on this platform, and he can be an hour away from you.. that doesn't sound too bad to me!

Have Zach tune it at The Racers Line, get tacos from Taqueria Los Gallos while you're there, and all your dreams will come true.

Zach is a magician.

Check the Sac86 facebook. I only know of one person who went to them. Not sure if there are enough dynos out there from them to know how they did really.

I'd highly recommend Zach and Neal at the Racersline.

I have an appointment at TRL coming up. i got quoted the price. Dang a custom tune cost alot. 825 just for the tune. $1903 for everything though?

Update: i guess Zach does the dyno tuning there.

Can't say anything on cost. I run OTS tunes on an OFT so I don't have experience first hand. I know it depends on how complicated your setup is though and dyno time isnt always cheap

Zach flies up to Concord every so often when there's demand.

It's expensive, my tune was $1100 (4 hours of dyno time) but the throttle mapping and drivability improvements alone are worth it. So much better than what I had from DT before (street tune by Zach also, but on a DT base map).

And the 340whp isn't bad either ;)

The biggest improvement was predictability. Much easier to drive around town, and WOT is actually full bore whereas previously it seemed like all of the range was a log curve all in the 0-50% throttle range.

I'm on 8"/225's and it has some trouble keeping traction ripping through 3rd, and on the chart you can see the little blip around 4k where my clutch was slipping in 5th, but I consider that rod insurance for my DD... prefer to burn some consumables than put a window in the block :)

Yea i believe it. Our transmissions are rated for ~200lbs but obviously alot of people has seen it go past that. Is your engine built? Thats alot of power for a stock motor, if it is.

I just love the torque from turbo boost. =) But shoot, this might just sway me. Oh well as long as we got Zach. Ill be happy.

Stock engine @ ~50k. 30k boosted so far, 5k on this tune. I don't beat on it too hard, just the occasional canyon run and spirited driving/onramp pulls, so YMMV but in any case Zach and Neal are good people and know their shit. Good luck with whatever you decide!
