Oil scraper for crank?
Has anyone experimented with an oil scraper for the crank. I was thinking of mocking up one to see where it goes. Your experience with this would be helpful
Thanks Roger |
No. Your going to have a hard time making one work for a boxer engine that utilizes case halves.
It's so much easier to fabricate a scraper on a V or Flat engine with access through the pan. On the FA20 your kind of blocked out soon as the case halves are bolted together other than a few small holes. The FA20 doesn't really have oil frothing issues by design, most oil starvation issues are reported to be from force -during high-speed cornering. A baffle helps more there. Most will opt for the following oiling mods which are way up 'the list' of to-do for the FA20. Oil Cooler, Larger Capacity Oil Pan, Oil Pan Baffle (windage tray,) Killer B oil pickup tube for more beneficial modifications. Those looking to run the FA20 hard are also going to be considering modification to the oil passages in the block, porting the front cover and an improved oil pump gear (mainly Reimax or Toda.) |
