Much like the top of that 86, this image has been covered already.

Still waiting to hear if it was actually totalled. It's an expensive job, but might actually be fixable...

"But it isn't just an ordinary version of the two-seater sports coupe – it's the Toyota 86 Hakone Edition."

Looks like the drivers A pillar is crushed and that is usually a write off.

It's hard to tell from that picture I think, but yeah, if the A pillar is distorted then it's a goner.

Look at the blown up picture in the linked article. It is a bit clearer. Could just be a reflection but it appear to have about a 45 degree bend.

Maybe. It could also just be the messed up fender messing with the profile.

Yep.

I would say the roof has had a good beating, I "reckon" the front windsheild is smashed and a nice "V" has been punched into to roof, I "reckon" the car is a gonner.

Plus the front will be mush from the wagon using it as an "on ramp" to the roof.

Even if I didn't know where you live I would have read that whole thing with an Australian accent!

definitely totalled. insurance these days is less about fixing and more about assumed liability. if they fix it and there is an issue with the compromised roof structure folding up in the future--similar to this(not exactly, but similar), that's a lot of cash to have to deal with.

easier to write off a $30k car.

The insurance just wrote mine off today.

Got the high side of market value, $32k, due to the car being in top condition

Still a bummer

2017 86 Limited Edition

Now I just need to find something to replace it.
