trueno86power 2017 Toyota 86 - TRD/Tom's/GR
Hi everyone !
February 2017, I've bought this beauty. When they announced the end of Scion, the switch from "FR-S" to "Hachi-Roku", with a face lift and mechanical improvement, I was sold! What I like the most is the factory 4.3 final drive, the little but still present engine power up's and the interior refresh. That is currently my 3rd FR-S/86. 2013 Scion FR-S Whiteout:https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87059 2015 Scion FR-S: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94617 I've began with minimal mods in the first years, but most of the stuff I had was transferred over my "old" FR-S. https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...=116777&page=5 When Toyota Japan released the 2017 Toyota 86 GR, I wanted that exact lip kit. Effective, still not to wild and factory fit. Unfortunately, those lips are pretty expensive... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...7c555086_b.jpg With a lot of browsing, I've did go back to what I like the best: TRD parts. For the front lip, the only face lift lip that I really liked was the Tom's one. While searching, I've found a TRD part lot for stupid price and got myself some goodies for the half the price. Topped off everything with the correct GR badge. Quite happy of how the car turned out, look more agressive but still on the "OEM" side. Special thanks to @elliejadegadbois for the pictures. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...2065d37e_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...629376cc_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...14ec5204_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...c000f81c_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...77b181d8_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...2cce63fe_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...74a3903e_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...9cbbb953_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...2045fc3d_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...24b567b2_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...16d7028a_b.jpg Engine - Aluminium intake manifold (OEM 2017) - Borla UEL catless headers - Injen X-Pedal Pro Black Edition - Injen cold air intake - Invidia catless/resonated front pipe - OFT tuned (Stage 2+) - Tom's radiator cap - TRD Japan oil cap - TRD Japan oil filter - TRD Japan sound changer - TRD USA air filter (drop in) - Stock Midpipe - Stock 13-16 muffler with OEM tips Driveline - 4.30 Final gear (OEM 2017) - Factory 6 speed transmission & LSD torsen differential - TRD Japan quick shift - Whiteline transmission mount bushing Suspension / Chassis - Goodridge brake line kit - Greddy/KW coilovers (F 6KG/MM R 7KG/MM) - TRD Japan carbon battery brace - TRD Japan carbon front strut bar - TRD Japan underbrace set - TRD USA front (21MM) and rear (16MM) sway bars - SPC rear camber arm Wheels / Tires - Enkei RPF1 17X9 +35 & Falken Azenis FK452 245/40/R17 tires - TRD Japan wheels nuts Exterior - Modellista rear spats - Philips LED license plate/backup - Rear fog light (Turn on with front fog stalk) - Subaru BRZ LED front fog light kit with OEM fog stalk and Toyota 86 fogs bezel - Tom’s front spoiler - Toyota front and rear black badge (86 GR) - Toyota GR front and rear badge - Toyota JDM clear side markers with chrome amber bulb - Toyota black (D4S) exterior mirrors caps (GR look) - TRD license plate frame - TRD Japan fenders garnish (CFRP) - TRD Japan rear trunk spoiler - TRD Japan side skirts (Zenki) Interior - Carbon insert on center console w/GR emblem - LED courtesy lights in door panels - GR Interior trims - GR Steering wheel - Harman OEM 2020 86 head unit Android Auto w/amp turned on - Philips LED dome light/trunk - Subaru BRZ frameless mirror - Subaru BRZ premium door switch bezels (C/F design) - Subaru BRZ trunk cover mat - Toyota Canada 86 “piston” trunk mat - Toyota OEM silver stitching hand brake boot - TRD style door sill applique |
Nice. I’ve considered that Tom’s front lip myself. It’s very subtle

Silver RPF1s on white look so clean and purposeful :clap:
That front lip is also all kinds of sexy |

It's WAY bigger than it look. From the outside it look like a regular front lip but in fact it's closer to a front splitter I was kind of surprised when I've received it ! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...42b07141_k.jpg IMG_20200229_173250 by Jean-Sébastien Girouard, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...d5c7aa01_k.jpg IMG_20200229_173246 by Jean-Sébastien Girouard, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...1451efd6_k.jpg IMG_20200125_145917 by Jean-Sébastien Girouard, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...069706f9_k.jpg IMG_20200125_145806 by Jean-Sébastien Girouard, on Flickr Quote:

Super clean, looks awesome! Would love to see it with the 57DR setup!

Very clean! I'm surprised you got the TRD USA catback instead of the TRD muffler available in japan. I bought one and it sounds incredible!

Lip looks outstanding, glad you didn't go with the trd lip which looks bulky. I like the c-west sides the best, they are close looking to the trd but don't have that part that extends up the front fender.

I would like to have the TRD Japan axle back but it's quite expensive for what it is. An other thing, I like to keep modifications reversable and well you know it, you need to cut the bumper to install the rear TRD garnish or the rear TRD bumper add-on. Got the TRD US axle back early in the owning of my 86 used for really cheap, don't know why, I love how the weird exhaust tip look with the refresh 2017+ 86 bumper. |

Yeah, never thought about the C-west. Kinda like the mudflap protection the TRD one are giving. I've opted for the Zenki model TRD side since the Kouki one have a weird shape. I may add like Charge speed style rear aprons to complete the look in the near future. |

RS4s last forever. While it may not be the fastest tire, its great for seat time. I've been searching for that shift knob forever, I can't do knockoff parts so its not easy to track down. That Tom's lip is fantastic. If I had a kouki car it'd be my lip of choice

Super clean build!
