Oh well. Overpriced and makes no sense.

Apparently, the Toyota 86 Limited Black is basically the same. The article says toward the end.

So I guess this means we’ll see Gen2 next spring? Assuming beer virus doesn’t completely trash their plans more than it already has..

So it is a Limited with PP and some blue inserts.
Enjoy the "rare' comment in reference to a normal Limited since that really only applies to Europe.
Love their reference to "recent" spy photos that first came out in July last year and mean nothing for a second gen.

Seems overpriced when the exchange rate is applied but since they are not paying in USD then it is a meaningless figure.
All cars cost more in Europe anyway. Need to compare it to other cars using Euros to get any real idea how expensive it is.

Bad timing to release a "final " anything lol

The German Subaru site shows the cost of the base model at €34,590 up to €38,290, which converts to $38K to $42K at today's spot rates. Is a $2K difference overpriced? I don't know.

I couldn't spend the time to find current numbers, but it looks like median household income in the US runs about 30% higher than median household income in Germany. So automobiles are not only priced higher at exchange rates, but they also take an even larger portion of household income, which would make them seem even more expensive comparatively. Compared to the rest of the world, cars in the US are pretty cheap.

Calling it a "Final" Edition bothers me if they plan to release a next generation.

Years ago I worked at a television station that had a morning show host who had been there for more than 30 years. Anna actually started as the station's receptionist, worked her way into reporting and finally anchored the morning show.

One day Anna announced that she would be retiring, the timing of which was to be announced. Everyone congratulated her. The news department threw her a retirement party. People even gave her retirement gifts.

But she didn't leave. She stayed on the air for another five years.

The "Final" Edition sounds like Anna's retirement party.

Can't quote.

Yes, comparing incomes to costs helps level the playing field where exchange rates alone do not.
Also yes, cars cost more there. They are also taxed at a level that would make most Americans revolt!

Can somebody direct me to someplace official that says the German car is actually called "Final Edition"? All I can find are the usual clickbait's parroting each other. I can not seem to find a single reliable source saying that there is any such name for the special edition.
