Functional front fenders?

Anybody try these? https://www.fly1motorsports.com/scio...vented-fenders

I'm thinking the fitment is probably not very good. I've seen people cut a hole in the factory fender but I'd like something more functional. The ones above are popular with the 370 crowd but I think more for hard parking. I'm looking for something that would benefit you on track.

Look nice... Not seen any cars on this forum wearing them..

How modified is your car that different front fenders are the next step?

Engine swap, motec ecu with C127 dash. Only stock part left on the car is the factory diff housing, with an OS Giken LSD.

The car is a total Frankenstein at this point.

Does it say how many millimeters they add? Also, What would make a front fender not functional?

Rep of which fenders? Haven’t seen any that look even remotely similar to these. And I’m sorry but I really don’t care if my parts are made in China or Japan. I guess I opt for Japanese because the fitment is usually better.

What is the definition of a rep part? Everybody always copies everyone else’s designs, especially when it comes to wheels. Are Titan 7’s rep wheels? They are made in China and look similar to half a dozen other wheels.

I think it’s like 10mm wider. I’m saying more functional from an aero standpoint.

86_IT 03-13-2020 06:08 PM

Might I suggest the varis kouki fenders? Vented and have built in fender aero fin.

IMO, Todorki fenders are the ones .... If you can find a set...

...that also seems to vent from the fender for engine bay heat as wll. That looks like a great design:

These items are designed as a direct replacement for the factory fenders. Dual vent design allows for improved cooling efficiency of the engine bay and brake area.

Almost all the pictures from that Fly1 site aren't even their own product. They have pictures of other's cars using official products, such as the AeroJacket's own demo car for their carbon ducktail decklid...

The original fenders are by Slick Carbon. They basically molded (possibly another companies) 350z fender design into the 86 fenders and produced them. I wasn't aware they were making another production run... but, they are still on the website.

As for function yeah it will work, assuming you kill the fender liner so air can escape.

Todoroki, Varis, Victory Function, Seibon, C-West, Max Orido, Ings, and ChargeSpeed all make vented replacement full fenders for non-widebody cars.

Personally I was hoping for the ones on the TRD Griffon 86 to trickle into production as they felt the most fitting to the car.

Max Orido making the best fenders dude:

Max Orido fenders dont really work on their own. You need the bumper add-on piece which only fits a newer 86 and will not fot either BRZ front end. Either way they look goofy without the rear flares.

beltax90 03-15-2020 07:24 PM

still sick af though

btw you can switch brz and 86 frs bumpers are swappable (ive seen it done before) and you can always choose something for the rear
