Transmission/Differential oil change interval daily + light track use
Hey everyone, I've tried searching the forums but only seem to find answers for either end of the spectrum.
I know for a daily changing transmission/differential oils every ~48000km (30k miles) is good enough and if it's a track car once at the start of season but was wondering if I should change my oil more frequently if I daily it and only do about 2-3 track days per year? Thanks! GCFSA |
Everything you need to know is on the time table in your manual.
Would it hurt it to do it more often? Nope. Would it be beneficial to? Eh who cares? Will it make you feel happy? Yes. In other words, change it when you feel like it. |
Might as well change it all, including brake fluid, before your first race every year. Peace of mind might be improved more than anything else, but why not?

I think you read the AT fluid line. |

I normally recommend every 2 years for most of my folks that do occasional track/spirited driving along with daily driving. I change mine every year after a season of track. This is with Motul Gear300 75w90 in both the trans and diff. YMMV when using other fluids. |
I do my gearbox and diff yearly.
More due the cars maintenance being a hobby thing now since I haven't had a dedicated club car for a few years. Meh, oil is cheap enough. Well....except for my old R33 Skyline, I would change the gearbox oil when I changed the gearbox, which was roughly every 6 months. |
