Chevron gives me crickets
Maybe it's 'cause I live in central CA, and gas is, "specially formulated" or something. But this is 3 for 3. Zero crickets for months, until I fill up with Chevron. Only takes about a half tank.
My '13 FRS loves Costco gas. No, I do not have a financial stake in either. I've had a Chevron card for 40 years. I did chart my old Celica as getting 2 MPG better on Costco, too. Consistently. Anyway, just thought I'd share / vent. Thanks; Alan:cheers: |

I found crickets to be a non-issue if you stuck with the same gas for a good amount of time. Personally going from Shell 91 no ethanol to Petro Canada 94 10% ethanol (not sure of the station brands available to you), I found that initially there were crickets with Petro 94, but over time the crickets seemed to have sorted themselves out and disappeared.
This was with a 2017. |

With my 2013 I've used only ARCO gasoline. My car (no power mods) has never had the crickets (at least that I can hear). :iono: humfrz |

I have a stock '13 that uses SoCal Chevron gas at every fill up, I rarely ever hear crickets, and if I do so what. Only been that way for 6 years and 85k. It is just the character of this car.
Crickets have more to do with temperature than it fuel brand. |
