Megan Racing UEL Headers and Overpipe?

Soooo I've been doing a lot of research when looking for unequal length headers and I have been able to find a good amount of stuff on basically every UEL header that is out there but for the Megan Racing UEL Header there is only a few reviews on Redline360.com and the header is only sold by Redline360 and on ebay. SO I say all this to ask does anyone know anything about these headers like are they reliable? Are the welds good? How is the collector? Stuff like that.

Also this is my first post on a forum soooo bear with me haha :bonk:

Where they are sold should tell you all you need to know.

Just pick up a Gruppe-S from our vendor section. Tons of reviews and inexpensive.

Welcome. Megan Racing is generally bottom-of-the-barrel in terms of quality. The price often reflects that. For platforms that aren't as popular with the aftermarket, companies like Megan Racing are often some of the only products available, hence why they become well known.

For this platform, some of the manufacturers for quality headers at a good price are JDL and Tomei.

This!!! Very true! For an example my 6th gen Celica hardly had any after market support on suspension. Basically all you can choose from is BC and Megan so that’s what everyone went with. At the time 4-5 years ago the car was 20 years old. So replacing stock worn out suspension (100k+ miles on stock) with ANYTHING is basically an upgrade. Brand new Megan would ride better than stock blown suspension so that’s where positive reviews come from. I know we are talking about header on this subject. If every other header is more expensive that should be a sign. Cheaper material is used and it’s China steel. It’ll crack or break or have Fitment issues, who knows how long it would last. Spend a few more bucks and get a well known reviewed products for the 86. Groupie-s or tomei or jdl. 3 best options within reason for the 86. I’ve learned in my teenage years don’t skimp.

Had my megan since last year and live in New England. The header is good for the price. Not sure what the heck the other people here are mouthing off about. Dont knock it until you try it.

You know all those people saying watch out for coronavirus?

Don't listen to them.
Best month off of work I had.

Dont knock it until you try it.

Damn this thread went South fast!

Guy asks about Megan header --> buy these other brands --> someone with Megan header has positive feedback --> Coronavirus!

... the fuck?

No reason to play yourself because you didnt want to cough up $100 extra dollars on a proven product.

Or you could save even more money and gut your stock header but, then again some will say little to no gains in doing so. I guess 200 whp with a tune and full cat gut is not worth it lol.

No one buys MR unless they are being cheap, and that is okay. But they are good compared to what? I can’t even find a dyno chart on them.

There is a reason most of the shit on my car is used.
