Pully and belt melted part of intake
 

So I had to remove the intake last year to run some wires. When I put it back together I didn’t realize there was a weird bottom part that’s super close to the pully/belt area. So the issue is resolved but I’m worried bits of plastic went into the throttle body most was around wngine bay but there’s a 1-2in hole in the plastic tube. I took some pictures and duct taped it. I’ve been driving it for 6+ months so I think it’d be ok by now. Any advice would be great.

Seriously tho, it is unlikely to be catastrophic for your engine. More than likely the plastic was burnt up and spat out your exhaust.

This is called a "self clearancing part".

If you were gonna have issues you would've already.

What ever, once that duck tape loses its grip guess where's it's going? Chances are it would just fall straight down.

I would just find a used part to replace that, or use plastic epoxy to properly pug the whole.

Not trying to troll lol. I’m replacing the tube this weekend. I put it there so nothing would suck up into the throttle body but if you think the duct tape is more problematic than nothing then I’ll take it off. Thanks for the advice guys.

I fixed an intake with duct tape before, no issues. Not ideal, I replaced it after a couple years.

Huh, duct tape used for actual ducting. Who woulda thunk?

Anyway OP, what makes you sure a new part isn't going to have the same problem down the road?
