14 Lava FRS for sale London CHEAP

OK so I will only be able to able to offer this deal until it goes for trade in two weeks and the price goes up at dealer auction or a used car lot.

2014 Hot Lava in London, Ontario

NOT A GARAGE QUEEN SO NOT PERFECT!Not awful either though.
270,000 kilometers. This is 98% highway with cruise control on so the wear on the mechanical, brakes, etc is not what you would expect with that mileage. Nevr tracked or beat on as it was my work commuter not a race car.

Lowered on RSR Superdown lowering springs. All suspension dealer inspected a month ago and in great shape.
TRD exhaust. Tips look like crap but will clean up nice.
TRD drop in filter. Cool noise. Cleaned and reoiled in the fall.
Full window tint. Small spot in corner of driver door damaged but easily fixed.
Scion spoiler. Port installed and nice and tight still.
Rest still stock.
Newish Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. Loads of life left. Stock wheels are like new.

Interior is good with some wear on the drivers seat (I spent a shitload of time in that seat)

Paint and body not horrible but does have some chips and dings from all that time on the 401. There is some ugly but totally repairable rust at top of windshield. Arrangements for repair of all the dings and a paint job FREE OF CHARGE are in place for later in the summer. Would be up to buyer to get it there and leave it until done. Details can be discussed.

Engine is a dirty dirty girl and looks like crap from the road crap blowing up in there but runs flawlessly. I have no idea where the CEL even is since I have never seen it come on.

New battery in 2018 still at 100%. New updated TOB and clutch in December 2018 (or 17 I don't remember).

A quick check says the average price for one with this mileage and condition is $15,000 (AMERICANS NEED NOT BOTHER SAYING TOO MUCH SINCE THIS IS CANADA AND THESE ARE THE PRICES HERE. It doesn't matter what they sell for in California or Buttfck Arkansas. )
I am asking $10,000 as is. Will listen to any reasonable offer though.

As I said at the start this is only available until my new car shows up at the dealer mid March. I would really rather sell it to somebody I know will treat it well since I know I will shed tears as it leaves the driveway for the last time. We spent a lot of time together!

Rust along front of roof. This has been ground out and colour "match" painted but will need more permeant ix

My son says it needs pumpkin bomb sticker on the fuel filler door.

First mod, clear side markers as they'll work well with the fender emblems..

Slightly lower and some wheel spacers, the flush fit will really show off the lovely colour.

As for the side markers, I think the European versions will look less blingy. You don't want to draw attention to them..

Well with the wheels this might be a better choice on the hood....

(or maybe a Japanese version of it)

Gonna try it at stock height for a while. The Lava certainly had to go down because the bright colour creates a big black void out of the wheel gap. My initial impression of the green is I will be fine with the gap.
It would be nice to be able to approach a driveway entrance or speed bump without having to do the calculations for the angle and speed of approach.

Just need to adjust the alignment so that it looks like it's laying an egg (Toyota emblem)..

Will you listen to unreasonable offers?

RickyRacer 03-02-2020 02:20 PM

Well done Tcoat.. that british racing green inspired color is beautiful on this car!

How come you didn't hold on to Hot lava for 1 more year and wait to see what gen 2 has in store?

Because from the reports of a reliable source (ichi) it will not interest me. Besides this way if it turns out he (and my own suspicions) was wrong and it is a good version then I will get a second or third model year of the 2nd gen and hopefully avoid any teething problems. First model years of cars scare me.

Enjoy the new Hakone. It is looking very good ... compared to hot lava :)

nikitopo 04-14-2020 10:10 AM

I didn't know that you sell your car. Nice choice with the new one!

For a split second I thought the new owner of Tcoat's car has put it up for sale... Double the buying price, 6 rolls of 4ply loo paper..

Welcome!! I look forward to hearing from you about your adventures with the Lava.

P.S, don't get roped into mowing @Tcoat 's neighbour's lawn....

Update:

So much for my dark colour theory. When this mess is all over and my wife is back to work there will be lowering and exhaust changes.
Height is fine from up close but as soon as I walk 50 feet away it looks like a bloody rally car or monster truck siting way up like that.

The stock exhaust just does not do it for me at all. I need some rumble back.

Well, I wasn't going to argue the point about the offending gap.. I thought I'd wait it out.. didn't need to wait too long!!

The stock exhaust is shite!! And what about wheel spacers? You need them to really show off the pretty colour..

Spacer I will skip. I would rather have the wheels inside where they don't fling crap down the sides of the car at highway speeds. Fine if you spend most of your tie city driving at lower speed but the damage that can be done from the highway just is not worth it. Don't have the pics anymore unfortunately but when I ran wider tires on my one Lancer to whole section behind the wheels was blasted to bare metal.

I understand, you don't flush, you need to do what BMW and Porsche are very good at doing, getting a wheel and well interface just right.. I think 10mm will make a difference and it won't pepper the side of your car.. anyways, if you keep mowing your neighbour's lawn you may earn a Hakone respray in a few years time..

There are valid reasons why the Canadian ones come with the mudflaps as stock.

Of course! Once a week around the block for about 30-40 minutes. Trying to stay away from Service Ontario for the time being, but she is insured.
New brake pads + rotors, as well as shift springs and a new billetworkz knob are in the works.
The current struts are most likely going to be swapped for some RCE Comp SuperStreets or GReddy x KW coils this summer if you're interested in the lowering springs, trade ya for the fog lights.

I think I am going to go with adjustable coil overs this time around but the fog lights are already yours. Just have to wait for the park to let me in to grab them.
Glad it isn't just sitting.

Walked into the park and got the fogs! Let me know when and where you want me to drop them off.

just curious, how ridiculous would the mudflaps look alongside sideskirts or would they even fit...

They don't fit without altering. They would really look sort of silly I think.
