2001 AP1 S2K w/Vortech SC

So, today this happened. Craigslist ad comes along, noticed it had been up for about 28 days. I'm not posting the actual link because I don't want y'all to buy it out from under me LOL.

Ad reads as follows:
"Selling my clean 2001 Honda S2000 AP1 with 47,500 miles for $23,500 or best offer. I am the second owner and have owned it since summer 2008, selling car to purchase new car, need space in garage. The car has a clean title in my hand and never wrecked, can verify body panel VIN tags. This is an AP1 car with the 2.0 liter 9,000 RPM engine, 6 speed manual transmission with Metallic Gray (Silverstone) and Red/Black interior, this was the color scheme used on most marketing/posters from Honda.

This car original came from Cleveland, OH from an older Banker trading up for Lexus. I have all documentation for the car including original window sticker, factory OEM Honda premium car cover and convertible top tonneau cover.

The car has always been garaged kept not just winters but summers and driven on nice days only. Every year the car has had the oil change done with Mobil 1, everything works and ready to drive once we have better weather.

The car has been tastefully and professionally modified but maintains the exterior and interior look. (Sleeper car if you will). Again everything on this car works, including AC, cruise and passes NYS inspection every year. Further have all factory parts to put it back to original if wanted.

Aftermarket Stereo system with head unit, aux input and SiriusXM, Amp and speakers.

Car has a Vortech Supercharge Kit making 360 HP at crank, this was a complete Kit engineered by Vortech to run with original factory ECU this is how it passes NYS inspection. This kit is a low 8 psi setup with stock internals and was completed at 30,000 miles. The clutch has been upgraded to a Science of Speed Clutch (they are the world experts on S2000 and NSX), also upgraded with Science of Speed throttle body, stainless steel brake and clutch lines. Upgraded EBC brakes front and back. Tires are still good and pass inspection but not new.

Car is beautiful except for lower lip / front valance has some scraps from pulling out of driveways/parking lots. Easy fix but I never did it knowing it could happen again.

Please see pictures as they show how clean this car is, also this car runs and drives like stock with all upgrades but when you want the power at Vtech it will have significantly more."

There were more pics, but here's a sample.
I met the guy after work. He's a neat freak, very meticulous garage, very particular on all supporting mods for the SC. We went for a test drive (I ride shotgun, I don't disrespect sellers by asking to drive it at the first meet). Very civil, and then at 6200 rpm SUPERCHARGED VTEC YO!!!!

First thing my wife says "so I guess I'm not getting a hot tub this summer?" I told her "you have a job, I'm not dipping into your savings, this is my car fund." Granted, it's a little sooner than I really wanted to buy something (off by 10 months), but when the stars align....

What do y'all think?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f7fa1a9745.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a538356043.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ab74d8f98b.jpg

Looks and sounds like a great deal. Good for you.

I'd go for it. S2000s are rock solid, especially when cared for. And an F20C doesn't even notice an extra 8psi of boost (reliably speaking). Just know that the the type of supercharger that car has just enhances the existing power curve, since it's centrifugal (though you prob already know that, at least based off test drive).

I dearly miss my Silverstone/red_black AP1 (snif)
I don't miss the wind noise on the highway though...

I absolutely loved my ap1! The price is fair, IMO. The mods are very nice! The mileage is great!

I had trouble finding high enough offset wheels when I had mine, but now enkei has the PF01SS. 17x9 +60

My boss says "if it's the right car, you'll find ways to make it work." I'm fairly certain before the end of the week, I'm pulling the trigger. It's a hell of a deal from amazing previous owner. Garage space is very much available [emoji16], more to come on my thread...

This forum community makes me happy, I'll be sticking around for sure.

Looks great. Id imagine you would want some wider wheels/tires with all the extra Umph.

Good price (potentially great price if you trust the previous owner and want those mods), but personally I'd go for the nicest condition/lowest mileage, unmolested one I could find in that price range.

We negotiated the final price down to $20,500. We deducted for clutch work in the semi-near future and tires will be next on the list. He plans on upgrading to a Gen 3 Viper convertible. I trust the guy's ownership. His garage was clean, everything had a place, car cover was in great shape, very minor cosmetic chips just from driving. I'll be driving it too, so I'm not phased. He knew a lot about the carefully chosen supporting mods and seems like the type that wants to stay in touch to hear how his baby is doing in its new home.

I've read some fine examples of impressions on other cars. I'll aim to deliver on a similar level :w00t:
