"Rice" Discussion

So I've noticed that vertical doors have been gaining more traction as of recent. It doesn't look terrible on some brz and frs but I wouldn't rock them lmao. So what makes something considered rice, non functionality for track? Wouldn't that make popular mods such as air suspension "rice" lmao.

Man at this point ima start using rice as engine oil next oil change.

WTF

Honestly, does it matter? Most people use that term to describe something they don’t like about someone’s car nowadays. But at the end of the day, who cares what someone does to their car? Their money. So if they’re happy with vertical doors on their BRZ/FRS, then so be it. Although I’m with you, I wouldn’t either. No need to hate though. That attitude is what divides the car community. Just focus on your own project, as they have been.

If you are looking for opinions, oh boy have you come to the right place. I recommend starting here:

I think I've overcooked the "rice".. it's stuck to the bottom of the pan..

Ehh... to me that just reads as "not being allowed to have a negative opinion."

I tend to keep opinions to myself unless asked, then I'll warn whoever is asking.

The "car community" has always been divided. It isn't one set of people that love all cars it is many different groups that love THEIR idea of cars. Those many different groups then have their own sub factions that think THEIR way is better. It hasn't changed since somebody painted the first Model T red.
What has changed is that now everybody is just supposed to smile and nod at everything whether they like it or not and not hurt some snowflake's feelings. Just because somebody expresses an different opinion doesn't make them a hater even if they hate it. So let's drop this everybody hold hands and sing kumbaya shit and let people express their opinions in any manner they wish.

You have to appreciate the irony of that sort of comment though. The people that like to preach "their money they can do what they want and others can't say anything" don't realize that they are doing the exact same thing as the people expressing their opinion. Both are just different ways of people trying to control the thoughts of others.

"Rice" Discussion

I don’t care about ricer mods as long as it doesn’t impact anyone else’s safety.

Stickers and ugly body kits? Fine honestly.

Cambered out slammed suspension, vertical doors that will come off in a crash, huge wings that are held on with Chinese tape, shit wheels with even shittier tires? Yea I have a problem with that cause when that goes wrong and I’m in the oncoming lane it’s going to ruin my day.

"Rice" is an attitude, too. Dude in my building with an obnoxiously loud Nissan who makes as much noise as possible. No other visible mods, but he for sure is a ricer.

SuperTom 02-24-2020 10:31 AM

I like to sprinkle in a little rice every now and then

You forgot the most important mod that even people who aren't a car enthusiast do.

Plasti Dip Tail lights.
