New Guy Here

Hey everyone,
I recently just traded in my '18 Civic Si for a 2015 BRZ Sport-tech. Back in 2018, I used to own an 06 Civic Si and was considering buying an 86/BRZ but decided to take the newer Si cause of the better deal I got. Fast forward 2 years and a blown motor in my '18 Si, I stumbled on an awesome deal on this BRZ which I couldn't turn down :happyanim: My plans for the car are going to be standard bolt ons, upgraded brakes, better tires (once i shred these primacy's), a track oriented suspension and maybe FI, all while enduring all 4 Canadian seasons..... If you have any advice you can give (especially when it comes to driving in Canadian winters) I am always all ears! |

Thanks and essentially to make a long story short.... After the cars very first oil change, the dealer didn't completely tighten the oil drain plug and it just so happened that the bolt popped lose when I was at the redline going uphill hahaha |
Yikes

Welcome! Hope you enjoy the platform, i want to assert that if you plan to do FI in the future, don't do any bolt ons.
Get ECUtek to futureproof yourself, get a great tune for your stock powertrain, and focus on learning the car. The only bolts ons I would buy are a catch can (pcv side) and wheels :) |

Don't even think of running those Primacies on cold or snowy pavement! They are possibly the worst tires ever for winter conditions.

if your car came with 17x7 wheels, turn those into your winters by putting winter rubber on them, and get a set of 18's with summer rubber. other than that, the rest is subjective. welcome to the club. oh, probably get lowering springs, very affordable, and youll get to climb under your car and itll really feel like its "yours" afterwards.

but it took me one snowy winter to figure it out as well. i thought i was better and could make it work until i got stuck on a 1 degree drainage incline in the snow. |

If you go FI save money for engine #2.
You could always sell bolt-ons before going FI. |
