Now that the carpet is out

For anyone that has been tracking their car with the carpeting removed... so i notice the bare painted floor is rather slick for keeping my heel in place. Has anyone else noticed and annoyed by this. Done anything to address it? Like glue something down to provide a little grip maybe?

I heard iffy things about using a truck bed liner in an enclosed space, and something something noxious fumes

Now ive used it just the same

an alternative albiet old school is deck grip tape for skate boards.

or go super cool and run these https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/11...G?v=1571439796

Hmm. Good ideas. I may look around at some of the stuff for stair treads too. Dont want it too abrasive. No reason to grind down the heels.
Also needs to stay put on an uneven surface.

Grip tape (though mine was for making stairs safe) actually works well. When I first got the car years ago, I was annoyed how I kept slipping off the dead pedal. I’ve had grip tape on it for 6 years now, no regrets.

Actually yes, grip tape, cut to size, peel and stick, forgot we did that almost 15 years ago now, worked like a charm.

hoping the second gen comes with grip tape

Grip tape, some gnarly Bob Marley graphics, and a pair of Vans.

If your foot isn't moving, you're driving too passively!

Grip tape gets my vote for road trips. Used it in a stripped out 96 Outback sport I had. Was great for the space where I removed the passenger seat so my backpack or small toolbox didn't slide around

to OP: if you haven't found a solution yet, you can go to a local skateshop and just buy griptape for a skateboard. Really easy to cut and make whatever size you need and already has adhesive backing. Cheap too, maybe 5-7 dollars max.

Skateboard grip tape. Also works well on the clutch and brake pedal.
