I installed this Sony in my 2017 brz. I loved the car play / android auto integration.

I used the included autoharnesshouse.com plug and play harness. There are no wires to cut - it simply plugs in to your factory harness. Steering wheel is retained it includes a pac sw1 steering wheel module with most functions retained. It has XM with an XM 300 tuner. It includes the adapter for the factory XM shark fin, adapter for the USB plug (aux is not retained) as well as the adapter for the factory FM antenna and camera. I had zero issues with this set up. It includes the Metra dash piece to adapt it as well as some extras (different years may need different adapters, but they are very reasonable). I paid 520 for the hu from crutchfield and about 250 for the various adapters and harnesses. $400 shipped. I can place on ebay for additional buyer protection.

anything will work, but you may need to purchase a different mount kit. The kit was only $30.00 so it won't be a big problem. To be honest the best use of this kit, who it would appeal mostly to would be a 2016-2019 BRZ owner with the trapezoid radio. It’s a half hour install with everything plugging in. For you there might be a new harness (also not expensive, maybe $50.00 from autoharnesswarehouse).
