Genuine SARD vs Sard "style" Wing
I know there is a huge price difference between the 2. Curious about the construction and weight differences
Genuine - is it full Carbon Fiber construction for the price, Also total weight? Knockoff- same question full CF, or CF over a fiberglass base? Weight according to FT86speedfactory is ~5.5lbs which isn't too bad. Thanks in advance. |
I had the sard style carbon wing on for about a year and it was great. Only thing that happened was the bases faded brownish because they are anodized black, and anodizing fades in the sunlight. Car was parked outside at work all day. But I would absolutely get it again, I'm just going carbon trunk.

Something like the legs/base is no big deal, can always be repainted. More concerned with the wing construction itself. Mine will be outside all the time as well how is the CF holding up as far as clearcoat peeling/yellowing? Thanks for the input! |

The carbon is FRP wrapped in carbon. I used to have the FRP sard style one and the bracket rubber shims that hold on to the edges of the trunk eventually disintegrated and left 2 bumps on each side of the trunk where the bolts have to be tightened. Not sure if that’s because it’s a rep. Also at highway speeds it wobbled very noticeably, don’t know if the “carbon” version would remedy that.

That would be a problem as Im guessing the bolts to screw into are molded into the fiberglass. The only could think to secure it would be drill a hole on top of the wing down. A countersunk bolt might not be as much as an eyesore |
