2016 BRZ motor in a 2013 FRS

I recently bought a 2016 BRZ motor & was wondering if it would be plug and play with my 2013 FRS, Ive heard from people that there were differences with the cam sensors & some other plugs from the harness.. Could anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Any pre 17 engine is pretty much a straight swap. The biggest concern is swapping one from MT to AT or vice versa since there are several parts that are different and need to be transferred over.

If you're worried about the harness, be sure that the engine you purchase comes with an accompanying harness and you should be fine. It's when people try to run a newer engine on the wrong harness that they have trouble.

Thank you guys for the reply, everything was plug and play from 2013 & 2016 fa20's motor swap went perfectly!

It took about half a day to pull the motor & a day to put it back in.

what were the challenge/s in the install of the new engine as it took a day to complete compared to removing the old one that just took half a day?

Just curious, which parts needs to be swapped over when getting a engine from a MT vehicle to an automatic? I own an AT car and do plan on also getting an AT replacement engine but just wanted to know about it.
