Dream Log

Do you guys ever dream walk? Lucid dreaming? Remember it afterwards? Sometimes I do and I think it would be an epic OT thread if we shared some of them.

Thoughts?

When I was a teen I lucid dreamed Freddy Kruger was sitting at the end of my bed, striped jumper and all. Rubbed my eyes and he was gone. Freaky.

Also lucid dreamed flying down my old street, that was cool.

K. This is not a lucid dream. So ban me.

I was at the university. I had an examination in the morning. I was using my mother as alarm clock :D I wanted her to wake me up early, and said "I have an exam, this is important!". I most probably go to bed that night very late, feeling guilty about not studying at all but watching a cool movie :) Feeling guilty and watching movie is my life. Anyway, when I wake up realized it is too late. Already missed the exam. Ran to mother and asked why she didn't woke me up.. She said:

"I did! You sit in the bed and told me that you had a call last night that the exam is postponed, and you were angry to me to let you sleep more."

So, mind you, this is a dream it's not all going to make sense even though my subconscious was fooling my conscious for quite some time with it last night, LOL.

I'm walking with my Fiancée in some kind of residential urban sprawl, it reminded me a bit of Philly which is odd because I have only ever been there like twice outside of 2mi from the airport. Anyway we run into this guy wearing a purple baseball cap (not Philly colors I know but may I remind you in dreams your brain is fooled even more than in real life). I think at first he was trying to hit on her but being polite as we are we ask him if he is going to the game. My Fiancée wants to go but the tickets are sold out. The guy says that we don't have to pay there is a secret VIP entrance that is unguarded if you get there early. We assume he is full of shit but we also have nothing better to do so we get into her car and start driving.

She is driving and I am giving directions which is good because if I'm driving it instantly becomes an action movie. The road we take is through this industrial section of the city. The road is so narrow the car barely fits down it but luckily there doesn't seem to be any traffic. In fact this entire neighborhood seems to be abandoned and I'm starting to get scared we might get mugged or something even though there is nobody around just old factories and rusting out cars. Sure enough though this small concrete canal of a road leads right under and into the stadium! No one seems to be around to collect a ticket either...

For some reason we drive right out into the arena looking for a place to park and then decide we should stop before we end up right in the middle. Something is weird though, it's not a baseball stadium at all. It's a Roman/Greek-style Coliseum! (I STILL haven't figured out I'm in a dream although this may be a side effect from trying to play it off because once you figure it out you tend wake up as not-reality falls apart). It's like grass in the middle surrounded by huge stone seating. We get out of the car to look around in disbelief that this ancient place could be in the middle of some forgotten industrial park in a forgotten park of a major city.

There is a large stone statue of the thinker (Le Penseur) with his chin resting on his curled arm. Yes that's a French statue but I'm apparently not good with history even in dreamland. The thing stands up. Holy fuck. It's huge and it walks over to us. I was going to run scared like a sane person but my Fiancée points out he is offering me something. It's a black book on aliens and the number 2 and why it is so important to them. Again dreams aren't always logical. I'm apparently so excited about this knowledge I start jumping up and down like a 3 year old. It says it will give me this book/knowledge but I will then have 2 minutes to answer a question about it and if I get it wrong it's going to kill me.

It leans down to my height, looks me straight in the eyes, extends its massive stone hand for a handshake to accept the challenge. I look at my Fiancée who just shrugs nonchalantly (at least a consistent French thing). I look this thing in the eyes and grab it's stone cold hand. The knowledge is being poured into my brain and desperately try to absorb it all as the pain in my arm comes from the brutal squeezing it is giving me effortlessly. It's so intense though in mind and in pain in my right arm that I wake up before the 2 minutes is even over. Would I have come up with the correct answer? I may never know unless I can get back there in another dream but recurring dreams are rare.

Writing even just a small detail points of these things as soon as you wake up really preserves the details! And yes I'm crazy but I'm sure everyone has crazy dreams too.

I very rarely remember anything.

My brother on the other hand has lucid night terrors quite regularly. Him and I were roommates for a long time. It was common to have to knock on his door in the middle of the night because he was yelling about something in his sleep. My favorite was, "F U ghost!!!"

Yeah some people don't remember them ever (probably how is supposed to be). I don't always remember my dreams, but occasionally I have very vivid dreams that I can remember. It helps to write down something quickly even if it's just a few notes right when I wake up. If I go back to sleep and wake up later it might be gone forever.

It is also said that much of "remembered" dreams were not likely what the dream actually was but the conscious mind adding filler to very small bits of actual dream content. Writing it down just supports what your brain added after the fact so any "remembered" dream sequences are highly questionable at best. The reality is that you probably dreamt a bunch of random flashes that had no relationship to each other and then your brain rationalized them all into a story while waking.
