Houston SCCA Autocross Rookie Skool
For noobs like me who've been inspired by their BRZ/FRS to take it out and do what it was designed to do.
It's on Saturday October 6, 2012 at Royal Purple Raceway 2525 South Farm to Market Road 565 Baytown, Texas 77523. Then on Sunday there is the real deal auto-x where you can put your learning to the test. Sounds like too much fun to pass up. From the Houston SCCA website: Click here to register It's time, once again, for the Houston Region Rookie Skool! The Rookie Skool is a full day of intense autocross instruction. Learn from the best drivers in the Houston region and get some quality, focused guidance with a 2:1 student to instructor ratio. You will learn: Vehicle dynamics and techniques for driving the fast line How to "read" the course and find the "key" cones How to find the quickest line How to define a braking strategy that will give you the best time The foundation for the technical skills that will make you a faster, better driver Classroom instruction, hands-on, dedicated exercises with instructors and a practice course to bring it all together. Tuition: $75 for SCCA members / $90 for non-members Price includes an event only membership that is good for the event on Sunday as well, so don't forget to register for that. Breakfast and lunch included in cost of the Skool Must be registered by Monday, Sept. 29, 2012 SCHEDULE • Be at RPR at 7:30 am • Registration/tech starts at 7:45 • Class begins at 8:30 • Skool is usually over before 5:00 PM Click here to register |
